I shouldn't have written the post between 11:30 PM - 3:00 AM. After a re-read it came off as a little bit whiny. It is a rush for me to make sure you all have new articles to read, GIFs to watch, etc... I am very appreciative of the community here. Y'all are a great support system.
That's kind of a loaded question. I will try my best to answer. I have a full time job outside of TKP. I don't support my family with TKP, almost all of the money TKP brings in is reinvested into TKP. The LLC is in place a legal business entity for TKP and its related ventures like t-shirt sales.

I appreciate the word of mouth support.
I thought I addressed the point you reiterated when you first brought it up, but perhaps I didn't. If I rely on a Tech comm major to write two posts a week, let alone do the job of a full-time beat writer, it is a significant and misappropriated time investment on my part. My time dedicated to TKP is much better spent in other ways. Additionally, I don't have the experience (and again time) to teach and mentor a comm student with real world skills (s)he will need. It would be a disservice to whomever. Moreover, every student at Tech already has a full time job: college. They don't have the time (and experience) to do the job that aligns with the vision of TKP. At the end of the day, I need someone that I can delegate football beat coverage to so I can focus on aspects of TKP I can more efficiently improve.
A full time beat writer is the next step for TKP. Honestly, if that's not my goal, then I'd quit right now. I am not interested in the status quo, I want to get better, and one way or another, TKP will get there.
However, I'm all for providing opportunities to up-and-comers. Based on TKP's budget, the most realistic hire I will make is a hungry, recently graduated college student that will take advantage of covering the football beat of a major ACC school.
How did you pick up IQ scores from that video?
After watching again, couple of other notes.
I still have no idea what is going on with the current fashion trends are with girls these days. I'm really at a lose as to how some of these outfits are "cute".
Big Al can twerk.
These girls can't whip or nay nay.
I like the glitter affect.
Drones are fun.
Maybe the accolades are dwindling that attitude and the coaches are reminding him he has to bring it every play.
I didn't see anything wrong with it. It looks like a strong bonded group of girls who like each other's company and have fun together. Which, I think, is one of the goals of everyone who attends college, not just the Greek system.
I did find myself wanting to take a trip to Bama though. Also, started thinking that in 17 years, my son will be going to college. Granted, that will mean I'm the dirty old man.
I was just joking around a bit. I definitely don't doubt the noise factor at Lane. The enter sandman thing is pretty cool too. Looks like a great atmosphere.
True about Greek system in general. Otherwise there would not have been the creation of an African American greek system as well.
Thinking back to my times at any greek party, I remember there wasn't a huge amount of diversity.

# | Bitter blog - 'Big baby' Tim Settle a camp curiosity, although role this year might be hard to find If he can play some, play him. If he's healthy. Does anyone think he's going to be at VT for 5 years? If not there's no benefit to red shirting. Personally I think he'lol be a pro after four years at Tech, maybe even 3, it's only a question of whether he is a fourth year junior, or a fourth year senior. A man that size with those feet and that quickness, is elite. What are you saving him for?
I can feel your praise showering over me like so many turkey legs. Truly, I'm extremely impressed by TKP staff's entire bath & body works. They're the true highlights of my otherwise drab and frizzy day.
I agree. Plus as much as we have heard him making big plays, we have also heard X Offensive Lineman held his own against Settle.
Just bumped TKP from commission (occasional donations) to salary (recurring monthly).
Maybe we should also start a "$1 every time" campaign.
Such as, I will donate $1 every time (est. 2015 total values in parentheses)....
- Teller has a pancake block ($25)
- Fuller breaks up a pass ($20)
- Dadi has a sack ($15)
- Ford scores a TD ($10)
- We beat an ACC team ($9/includes post-season)
- Our defense scores a TD ($7)
- We injure an opposing team's starting QB ($5)
- We beat a team from NC ($4)
- We injure an opposing team's backup QB ($3)
- We beat a Big10 team ($2)
- We beat an in-state team ($2, payable immediately due to certainty of occurrence)
I am sure there are other great excuses to drop a few extra bucks over the course of the season, but the best one is that TKP is the one-stop shop for unparalleled Hokies coverage.
Not at this time, and probably not any time soon.

# | Teller Demoted? OL Shuffling? VT Football Practice Monday 8/17 Observations Again, I'm just being devil's advocate...
In my honest opinion, I think the more likely scenario is that Wyatt is already a lock to start at LG, the OL coach isn't congratulating him on a good scrimmage because high levels of performance are expected from Wyatt on every snap at this point, and the OL coach simply wants to see the depth behind the obvious starters.

# | Teller Demoted? OL Shuffling? VT Football Practice Monday 8/17 Observations I don't believe that to be the case. He was straight up manhandling defenders similar to Jake Grove/Duane Brown. He was driving DTs into LBs on some plays to create huge runs.

# | Teller Demoted? OL Shuffling? VT Football Practice Monday 8/17 Observations The Teller situation is interesting for sure. I just can't believe that this would be a permanent thing. The man almost single-handedly jump started our running game last year with his attitude and play. He had some issues in the scrimmage but they certainly were not for lack of effort.

# | Teller Demoted? OL Shuffling? VT Football Practice Monday 8/17 Observations Just an idea that I'll give a little background on:
My senior year in high school, we spent all fall hyping up this basketball player who was supposed to be lights out. I'm talking we hyped up to 25 pts a game, 50% from 3. Everything. Season rolls around and he's averaging 16 pts a game and 30% from 3. It's not his fault. We overhyped him as fans.
Maybe. Just maybe. And I know JC had a great four game streak when Wyatt took over at left guard full time... But MAYBE we as fans fell in love with the blue collar, mullet rocking (RIP), muddy boot wearin' badass a little too much. We aren't coaches. Just Sunday morning quarterbacks.
Just a thought! No need for hate!

# | Bitter blog - 'Big baby' Tim Settle a camp curiosity, although role this year might be hard to find As I said from the scrimmage, at this point I think he should redshirt. When it comes to getting comfortable his first year in the classroom and being a college student I'm not sure it helps there. In my experience guys that are taking the shirt seem to struggle a little bit more away from the field and I think part of that is because they don't have much to lose from it on the football field. Not always the case, but that has been my experience more often than not.
The problem is that if Brewer gets hurt, it is very hard to start preparing a guy that has been planning on taking the shirt and then having him see the field. Most players that are shirting check out mentally just a bit because they don't feel like it will make a difference for this year. I think we are potentially one injury a way from seeing him and if we can give him a few packages, we can make the season worth it even if Brewer stays healthy.
