They run no huddle, but it isn't really up tempo. They're actually around average in that regard.
UNC and ECU were much, much faster as far as tempo. Duke and Cinci went faster as well.
I don't know that going up tempo helps as much when the opponent has a rather svelte front 7. Helps against 3-4 teams with big front 7s like Bama and Oregon, but being physical is much more likely to wear down our front, IMO.
Gotta admit, I think I might have a big glass of the koolaid this year. I didn't drink any much last year, but for some reason I'm awful thirsty this preseason.
As others have said in the other thread, it is a shame that he hasn't desired to remain involved in the program. He is a legend among the fans that remember, and from the sounds of it, could probably build on that legacy if he desired. Oh well, I respect his decision either way.
They've had a few more winning seasons to develop their Homerism. Albeit, we're pretty good at it and that's how I know trying to reason with Homer is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline. The only thing we can do is pull for our team and let the talking be done on the field.
I agree with you. He wasn't a 5*, he has a ton of potential but he needs a lot of work as well. I would plan for him to be here 5 years, redshirt him this year and give him the chance to start 3 or 4 years. If he turns out to be that good of a QB, we are going to win a lot of games and Leoffler will have a poster child for QB recruiting the next couple years to refill the cupboards. It is wise to prepare for exceptions, but you shouldn't plan around them and a QB leaving early would be an exception.

Are they known for no huddle, up tempo offense? I think the point of subbing the d-line is that Bud's backups are more than capable of keeping up the pressure, not that we think we'll have another 14 point lead.
I was a sophomore that season, and I remember my roommate coming home from class with a stunned look on his face. Corey Moore saw him staring at him as he walked by, so he said hello and talked to him for a minute. My roommate said Corey made him feel like he'd been looking forward all day to seeing my roommate.
So he apparently was marginally different off the field.
Not just an AA, he's in the rare spot of being a defensive player on the short list for Heisman....
They really do think they're just going to plug and play and everything will be fine. I don't buy it, you don't replace talent like that. Bosa last year eliminated half the field of play from our playbook, as we literally ran most plays to the side of the field he wasn't on. With him out, the entire field of play opens back up, which should ease the pressure off our offense a bit.
Hmm...the one side of the LOS they might dominate on, they're missing their AA and facing a healthy OL (so far).
If Trey is running strong, we're set at RB for the game. My only worry has been that JCC is undersized, but he proved last year that he's tough as nails to tackle, and if we can get him and Trey into a flow early, they have all the makings to have a little Imoh-Humes combo in them, and that did us pretty well, even against a USC that ended up winning it all.

Bravado coming from those *******. Pedal to the metal for a FULL 60 minutes in this one Urbz.....Play fast and don't give them a chance to substitute that defensive line at their leisure.
Don't get me wrong 11w has its share of good guys, but lately, the ignorant dumbshits really are making it difficult to find them.

Even with our top two backs out, we still essentially have two returning starters back. If there is one position to have two guys down and still be okay...
only issue is making sure to record the whole hour after the game has ended. So many ACC broadcasts/recordings that finished with 5 minutes left in the game because they couldn't timing right...
if we have any acc network games this year i'll probably listen to it on radio instead.
I'm counting on this year's Virginia Tech team to show up better than last year's Virginia Tech team.
I think Lawson has all the potential in the world to be our next 4 year starter, even with a redshirt this season.
I mean, really, even with all the talent we've had come through and play QB for us, only Mike Vick went on to be a starter in the NFL, let alone 1st day draft pick. I don't see a QB going early anymore unless he's graded out as a 1st round talent, and after seeing what happened with Tyrod and Logan... I don't know.
I'll believe it when I see it in regards to any of our QBs going early to the NFL.

I've done that as well, but that's still catching the end in real time.
I know that I'm in the minority, but if I'm not in the stadium I actually prefer to DVR the game and start 90-120 minutes in. That way I can zip through commercials and halftime and have the ability to FF right to the end if things go totally to shit. I've never felt like I enjoyed it any less just because I'm watching on a delay; if anything it has improved my TV experience because I don't have to sit through so much crap.

Barring injury, I'll be shocked if Lawson doesn't play this year. That's not to say that he should. But I think he will.
My prediction:
I think Brewer will be the starter and primary QB as long as he is healthy; Motley will play regularly as a change of pace, run oriented spread QB; and Lawson will get series if/when games are out of hand. I don't think anyone on staff believes Lawson will stay more than 4 years. Lawson will likely be the starter next year and anything they can do this year to help that along, they'll do.
The bottom line is the reason for the loss last year was inexperienced units not playing as a team. I feel the Buckeyes are gonna dominate the line of scrimmage this year. That will result in a lopsided victory for them.
