I think Loeffler will do whatever puts his players in a position to succeed. Do I want to see Tech establish a power running game and only throw the ball 15-20 times a game like the early 2000s? Hell yeah, Im a huge fan of power football. But I'm more of a fan of game planning and putting players in a position to succeed, and I honestly dont think that any of our current "healthy" RBs are suited for the power running game.

Too late for that, Carilion seems to have a pretty productive relationship with Virginia Tech. I think this move benefits them both.

The Carilion partnership makes sense with the residency program for VT being held at Carilion.
It still is pretty telling when one of the main storylines coming into the season is that Brewer needs to protect the football (seriously, what's the over-under on the number of times those exact words have been typed/said since December?), when he already did do exactly that over the last 3/4 of the season. And no, comparing his first year to everyone else's career isn't going to be 100% apples-to-apples, but it's a good reference point. And besides, just about everyone on the list would have improved throughout their careers, so we're comparing what will likely be Brewer's worst year with an average that includes those guys' best and worst seasons. So is Brewer really at that big of an advantage? I'd say no. Again, those other guys are on there just as a reference. The quote from Chris Coleman is really just a bit of hyperbole to draw attention to the fact that maybe Brewer isn't as terrible as he was made out to be last year.
I agree completely. It will also help when the athleticism of our O line allows them to pull better, and get to the second level when zone blocking. I also think being in pistol or shotgun helps Brewer see the field better to change the play based on what the defense is doing, as Lefty expects him to do, without giving away the play change to the Defense and letting them adjust.
Only difference is that I think Brewer is a bit more effective than Glennon was during his junior year
I hope Jaylen Bradshaw makes some moves up the depth chart. Asante and Knowles have done their time but we know what we are getting with both of them. Bradshaw was an outstanding wide receiver at Oscar Smith, a perennial powerhouse program. It was rumored that he was in line for playtime last season (true freshman) but got hurt towards the end of camp and got the redshirt. I'd love for the guys who make the decisions to play the young guy with the potential and develop them rather than play the senior who has reached their peak and, sorry to say, isn't that good or much of a difference maker.
