very true. He was extremely reliable all game. I was also impressed with the chain-moving catches of Stanford, I think people forgot his impact on that game. I know he disappeared from the team after that. My guess is they are going to fill his targets with Bucky and that we don't really need a traditional 3rd WR if Mallak can stay healthy (big if) and maybe if Cline can come back and contribute.

Yeah, this.
The only thing I'm getting in this years' is that there's 2 conspiracies, one with the Russian and one local. the piece that links them both is Caspere.

The 4 (now 3 after the shootout) cops are investigating Caspere's murder but know there's other stuff going on. Each is a mole for someone else as well as being a mole for the woman that's the State's Attorney General.
Each has enormous baggage.
The cute blonde was abducted as a kid, her Dad ran a commune, her sister's a prostitute of sorts and she herself has significant intimacy issues.
The skinny veteran guy is in the closet and has intimacy issues and had a death wish but managed to get his girlfriend pregnant and his Mom blames him for her trailer park life and stole a huge stack of money from him that he saved up when he was in Iraq.
Velcoro got played and killed a guy he thought was his wife's rapist (but was not) which turned his life into a death spiral and he got crooked.

There are so many characters in the drama that I did not even recognize the Chief of Police in the most recent episode. I can't even remember any one's name except Frank, Blake (because Frank says it so many times it would be a good drinking game) and Caspere and Velcoro from having just read it.

Every time someone appears in the frame, I spend time trying to remember who it is and what his story is so I can process the scene unfolding.

The Writer/director want everyone at this point to be guessing who Caspere's murderer is and who is going to survive the final episode.

What the audience is trying to guess is, Who is Velcoro's son's real biological father.

For me, it is precisely because of season 1 that season 2 is such a disappointment. I'm not the only one, most of my friends who are watching share my feelings, but we're all still watching, just not enjoying the show like last year's production.

This. After every episode of season 1, I was yelling at the TV. Season 2, I'm just trying to keep up with characters and connections. It feels like I'm watching GoT, but skipping every other episode.

Go to TOTS, get a rail. The line and cover sucks, but the rail is Blacksburg classic. For food, my personal favorite restaurant in BBurg is Cabo Fish Taco (get the mahi-mahi tacos). Sharkey's is classic bar food - can't go wrong. I also second suggestions to check out the campus.

As for the tailgate scene, Hokies are very welcoming - you can walk up to any tailgate and most people will be accepting. For a wilder party scene, go to Central St. (if you get in the general vicinity, you'll be able to hear the tailgates). Any parking lot will be packed too.

I had OSU fans buying me shots and thanking me for visiting Columbus before the game. We bonded over how much we hated Michigan. I plan on returning the favor this year.

Damn!

Man, I got an upvote. Who upvoted that? I just did that to watch the world burn and to see what kind of gifs would come from it. TLs for all!

I was hoping a volunteer from Texas would raise their hand, and we could email them a pdf that they could put on a sign to take to gameday....anyone out there want to do this? Either the one from last year or the masterpiece that Fernley is going to produce this year. Would be awesome to have more "support" on Saturday than anOSU.

Lefty's has a great menu. They are moving to a larger location next to the gucci-Kroger gas station down the street from their present location. They will triple in size. Not sure when this is supposed to happen but I'm pretty sure its early this fall.
Also, if you have time, drive West on 460 into Giles county and up to Mountain Lake and go past it on the rock road to the Appalachian Trail crossing. Park here and hike up hill for about 1/2 mile to Wind Rock. The view is magnificent! A low clearance vehicle is not recommended. This is about an hour drive each way.
