But some coaches that were amazing coordinators have failed greatly when they jumped to head coach. Not saying that is the case here but it is possible so I would be more than happy for him to stay as a coordinator till the end of time ah la Lebouf (sp)

It sounds like their defense knew our offense's signals. When they heard the call for a slide protection one way, they would audible into a blitz to the opposite side. If the other guy is reading your mail, and you don't know it, you got a problem.

Dude, just change 3 words and you are there with the rest of us. Even you know he knew that he was breaking the rules. Be happy with the 4 games, I thought Goodell would bring the hammer being that it is the second time the Pats and Brady have cheated.
EDIT: just saw the above post that you are not a Pats fan, but if it were my team I would take the 4 games and run.
You're conflating "it's not the legal system" and "it's this way in the legal system" to make your point...which is it?
Not a Patriot fan. Not at all obvious to me that Brady told the eqpt guys to deflate the balls to an illegal psi.
When people talk about the "speed of the game," this is the kind of thing I think about. How long does the C or the QB have to read the defense and make the call? It can't be more than a couple of seconds. Compounding that, I wonder if this is the sort of thing that each coach does his own way, so the players have had to learn three systems in three years. But this year they will finally get to use the same signals and decisions trees as last year.
Take it to the only judge I trust.

He didn't deflate the balls. He may have known about it, but he didn't do it. The organization got their punishment, and it wasn't contested. But in reality, Brady wasn't proven to actually DO anything against the rules. And they suspended him for 2 more games than Ray Rice was originally suspended for.
I'll sum it up:
1. This erratic system of punishment and proof will piss off a lot more teams in the future
2. After the next CBA, I highly doubt the NFLPA will allow Goodell this much power ever again.

# | Frank Beamer Hopes Virginia Tech's Next Head Coach "Would Come From Our Staff" There is likely more to it than that, but since I have only second and third hand accounts, and even then, it's really old news, I'll choose to keep quiet on the issue. I agree that we need to keep Bud, but I think his value to VT is as our DC. Like it has been mentioned, Bud doesn't really seem like the gladhanding, fundraising type, and probably isn't exactly the type to do some of the ass kissing that a modern HC has to do as the public face of the program trying to fill the coffers from the deeper pocketed fans. Personally, I hope Bud will stay with the program, we hire an offensive minded head coach, and maybe then we'll see what VT's ceiling can be. If he does, indeed, become the head coach, I'll be all for him, but I'll also be surprised if that happens.

Conspiracy theory: Brady is happy with a 4 game suspension.
Pats will go 2-2 in his absence and they still walk away with an easy conference championship. The only difference is there are 4 less games on Brady's old ass body. He claims he will fight everything to the end to appear innocent and will soon RELUCTANTLY step away from any lawsuit knowing that he could lose and miss more critical games.

As far as I can tell, it's all about how it gets handled after the fact.
Kinda like getting pulled over. If you're polite and apologetic, you might get off with a warning, but if you mouth off to the cop, you're sure as hell getting a ticket and he might double check your registration, inspection sticker, headlights, etc.
Whether that's a fair way of doing things or not is open to debate, but I feel like it will happen whenever the punishment is at the discretion of a human.

you seem to be confusing the 'innocent until proven guilty' premise of the criminal justice system with the NFL's policy on breaking the rules. If the NFL suspects you of breaking the rules it's more of a 'guilty until proven innocent' situation. And yes they're allowed to do that - they are not the government.
Plus regardless of personal phone, team phone, NFL phone... if you are suspected of a crime (or in this case suspected of breaking the rules), and you destroy evidence; it is assumed to have been incriminating evidence rather than exculpatory.

At the end of the day, I don't really give a shit but I don't under how Greg Hardy's suspension violence went from 10 to 4 for something the NFL is really trying to make a hard stance now, and Brady's was kept at 4. Again I dont care but to me, that doesnt really add up.
Not to mention, the issue in question is not what he did with his own personal prop but with NFL property (balls).
And not for nothing, but I was scrolling through my tv channels and hit on Smokey and the Bandit. Started watching it and now I can't quit. Haven't seen it in decades. Thing is, Burt Reynolds in the movie kinda reminds me of Brewer a little bit with the Texas hat and 'stache and all. Stupidly funny movie, but I keep seeing Brewer.
