He's being punished for insubordination and I don't see any way he can get somebody to reverse that.
Surprised to read they have discontinued Zima. I would have thought Charlottesville consumption alone would have kept the product afloat. Kinda sad, probably the result of so many fewer tailgates and victory parties in the fall up there. I suppose some John Grisham type of person could step forward and underwrite the return of Zima, though. But I digress...
And those top 10-15 teams are all SEC teams, ranked that high in the preseason. And then they play each other so they can ONLY lose to top 10-15 teams, so they stay top 10-15 teams...
I agree he isn't seasoned enough to take over HC yet.
You know what they say...if you can't coach, head coach.
And if you can talk above a hoarse whisper after the game, you let the team down.
Comparing the current roster of ACC schools:
VT-12
Pitt-14
UVA-14
Duke-13
UNC-14
Miami-13
GT-10
FSU-17
Clemson-14
NC St-18
WF-13
BC-10
Louisville-16
Syracuse-8
So we're on par with the conference average of 13.
Interestingly, back before we joined the ACC, my 'hoo? fan friends claimed that VT was not a major rival in any sport because their main focus was their conference. While they still gloated when they won and whined when they lost, they really didn't seem to return the feelings quite in kind. Since we joined the ACC, all such bullshit excuses evaporated, and now, the rivalry is totally acknowledged. This is just my experience with the folks I know, and there are more than a few, but to me, it just makes their current woeful status and our winning streak all the sweeter.
I didn't "lay all the issues with RB's at his feet", I said I don't approve of the job he's done.
And honestly, even if he'd done an excellent job I don't want him going from RB coach to Head Coach. If he makes his way up the ranks and gets more experience I can listen to the argument to have him take over but not yet.
This is the definition of very Leonard

# | Virginia Tech Football Recruiting: 2016 WR Divine Deablo Commits to the Hokies Looks like 8-13 for a pro style offense. Which is what Tech has traditionally played with a more heavy run orientation than pass

This guy seems to know how to work the public. Is he around?
Seriously, after reading this I'm just like, shit. The problems seem like less of the players, and more of incompetent in-game coaching. Means we are fighting a losing battle.
I wish we could have had Bud Fosters as our drink of choice.

# | Frank Beamer Hopes Virginia Tech's Next Head Coach "Would Come From Our Staff" Foster wants to be a HC, but doesn't want to politic. So he needs a OC or HC that likes that stuff
Maybe the politicking can be covered by, say... an assistant to the athletic director who specializes in football? Do we have someone who fits that description on the staff? Hmm...

# | Frank Beamer Hopes Virginia Tech's Next Head Coach "Would Come From Our Staff" I'll play a little.
Whit may want to keep the cash cow running, but since TV contracts pay a lot of the bills, that'll probably be safe no matter who is coach.
However, once we need a new head coach, I'd be willing to pony up a few bucks if it's Foster (or some splashy hire). So maybe Foster is still included, if Whit thinks he'll bring in the donation cash.
Out of all the water splashing gifs out there, I'm glad you chose this one.
No team in the country plays one back exclusively anymore rotating is common, we as fans don't know when a back is tired or other factors. Has he been perfect no but to lay all the issues with RB's at his feet is tiresome and played out.
His insistence on rotating RBs unnecessarily and not playing to their strengths.
What part of the RB coaching isn't at least ok? Do you blame him for injuries?
I don't approve of the job Shane has done as a RB coach.
His recruiting has seemingly gone downhill.
The players may love him, but that's not enough.

Looks like 10-15 is normal.
Although most of his highlights are on D I could really see him playing TE. He's tall, can catch and run, and looks like he will get bigger and can block as good or better than he tackles.

Like. Something about January enrollees just warms my heart.

We'll have none of that word "entitled" at VT, tyvm.
