I don't know the RA in question (they did their job though) but I do know who the HRA was in West Egg that year. And... I am not surprised he called the police. Personally, I would have just broken it up myself sans PD. JR's would have been written though as you would have failed my "hear no evil, see no evil" test and forced me to.
Sounds like you had a good time in West Egg though but honestly that party pales in comparison to some others I saw/heard about during my time.

I'm really not sure what it could have been in regards to sexual misconduct, because that usually involves trouble with the law. And if it was for marijuana or some other drug-related incident, again, you'd think he'd be in trouble with more than just student conduct. I think it's safe to say that we have absolutely no leads whatsoever as to what he might be in trouble for, other than it being something ridiculously stupid that he does not want released to the public. And I honestly can't conjure up anything "stupid" that would warrant a permanent dismissal from school. Maybe a repeat offense of something? Again, there is no telling. I'm sure when and if we do find out what it is, though, it will be something incredibly stupid, and will most likely give Tech a bad reputation, in addition to what has already transpired with Shai McKenzie. Frank Beamer has done an excellent job of improving the image of Virginia Tech Football since 2005 (Marcus Vick's final year), and I hope that isn't tarnished in one offseason.

I was in the same boat as you but the P in ESPN changed to Politics. This started for me when SVP was not actively involved with the radio show anymore and R Russillo started to get political. IMO that guy has no balls whatsoever, he reminds me of the type of person that is offended if the wind blows the wrong way

# | Bitter blog - Countdown to the ACC Kickoff, No. 1: The offensive line, plus some Sunday links From 2012-14 the Hokies had three different o-line coaches, going from Curt Newsome to Jeff Grimes to Stacy Searels. That's three different coaching styles to adjust to, making continuity difficult.
Andy is being amazingly generous calling whatever Newsome was doing a "coaching style".

I managed to get down to Belize at the end of May to do some fly fishing for Bone Fish at the Turneffe Flats. They might be the hardest fish I've ever gone after, but I managed to get a few.

# | Bitter blog - Countdown to the ACC Kickoff, No. 3: Scot Loeffler I'd argue that top 15 for VT is pretty ridiculous. We're not going to suddenly put up numbers that compete with Baylor, Oregon, Marshall, etc. VT's best total offense ranking since 2008 was 35 back in 2011. If we could only muster that rank behind record-breaking WRs, a backfield led by David Wilson, and a veteran offensive line that was the best one we've seen in the last 5 years, there's no reason to expect that we'll come close to that this year. We have playmakers at skill positions, but we still lack depth, especially along the line.
I will judge Loeffler based on our wins and losses, not based on where we place when stacked against an uneven playing field with different offensive strategies. We're not going to put up 500 yd/game to get into that top 15.

On some of his Sportcenter scrambles, he literally wasn't even looking downfield. It was like a blindfolded Hail Mary.
Because we know for certain that VT isn't targeting any other QB(s) for the 2017 class?
This guy is old news and most of the recent news isn't headline worthy. I'd be shocked if VT was making any play for him. And frankly, even if it were, I'd be even more surprised if he was interested in jumping from the UGa kettle to the VT fire.
Add this to Braxton Miller, Chad Kelly, etc. transferring to VT file...

Tech's 3 year slump is directly related to the departure of 4 starting senior OL players after 2012 and the lack of OL recruiting that occurred in the 2 years prior. If VT had pulled 3-4 competent OL in each of those 2 years, we would not be talking about a 3 year slump in the program, IMO. I know that other factors contributed to the losses (RB recruiting, injuries, coaching turnover) but limited athleticism and inexperience on the OL have doomed the offense to its 3 year stretch of statistical futility.
On the flip side, the uptick in recruiting combined with improved OL coaching gives me great hope that Loeffler's offense this year will be a major improvement on the previous 2 years of work. While other factors could certainly combine to derail the offense this coming season, I don't expect the OL will be an Achilles' heel, unless the injury bug bites deeply.
My biggest OL concerns at this point are holding onto Coach Searels and bagging a minimum of 2 more recruits in the 2016 class. Failure to recruit at least 3 "big uglies" per class is what got us into this mess in the beginning.
In my book, the OL recruiting in 2016 is again the most critical need, way above WR, LB or any of the other previously identified needs.
At this point it is coming down to semantics. Critics (including myself) have pointed out that his performance so far has not demonstrated that he is competent. I haven't ruled out that he could be competent. So if he is competent, that doesn't prove me wrong--which is when in my understanding I should be eating crow.
If he doesn't prove that he is competent this year, he should be fired (Beamer's retirement and strategic issues might postpone that, but it will be to our detriment). If he does prove to be competent, so much the better. If he fields a top 15 offense, I'll eat crow or whatever else he wants. I can't speak for other critics.
look... what these players do when they get in trouble is usually dumb, stupid shit. It never looks good. BUT... these are young college aged kids for crying out loud. The ONLY reason any of this matters to VT perception wise is because they happen to be on the VT team. But I would say 99.9% of every student at VT does something "stupid" that if caught would have resulted in some sort of punishment and if they happened to be on a team would have gotten blown up in the press. But they aren't so it isn't. Moral of the story is despite the transgressions in all there are relatively few at VT and most importantly normal statistically for this age and time of life. Believe me, I have seen non-athlete students do A LOT WORSE.
The real issues come with things like what is happening down at FSU, which seems to have been too loose on keeping kids in line. Give an inch, they take a mile.
All in all, I think Frank has always maintained a healthy balance on punishment/reaction to incidents, and for the most part, except for Marcus "worst Hokie ever" Vick, a fair amount of second and third chances to deserving kids. At least as far as any of us are privy to.
So while stuff like this sucks from a team point of view and obviously looks bad, ultimately it will not affect VT's reputation or derail it's progress forward as an institution or team.
