I think if Loeffler just 1) stops rotating out hot running backs, and 2) watches the game to see what's working, then sticks with it rather than going with a fixed script/trying to get fancy like he seemed to do so many times last year, last year's offense could have been effective despite the injuries. If you are doing something that's working, keep doing it until they stop you.

Pretty every good player is going to have offers from the majority of the good schools. What would really be interesting to find out is how many of those dudes were top targets for SEC schools, because some can be fall back guys if their top targets commit elsewhere.

I really hope Brewer gets this team rolling this year and becomes a national name. I think I have more faith in the passing game right now than the running game. Maybe that's a good thing, I think the running game will be ok but not enough to carry us like it has in the past.

I think if Brewer can get through OSU unhurt then watch out. A lot of those INT's next few games likely came due to some serious bodily harm.

Would anyone be interested in doing some tasting/beer share events? I'm in NE DC and have a decent cellar. I go to San Diego regularly, so have some limited edition stone, alpine, and others. Have others that are aging. I do a lot of brewery tours, so I have beers from all over.
Anyway, would be cool to get together with like minded individuals and sample different beers.
Oh, I wasn't calling for conservative play since I said get the ball downfield. :-) I was referring to the type of interceptions that didn't make sense like the screen play in the middle of the field that was returned.

Brian Kelly is almost as much of a slime ball as Lane Kiffin. I would rather hire Mike London than either of those two individuals.
Richt is at one of 5-10 schools that has EVERYTHING in place to win a national championship (donors, facilities, history, high school recruiting, no major in state threat, etc), but has still failed to even come close. Not sure I want him to take over our program.

I definitely could do without the turnovers but what I really hope doesn't happen is the conservative play that sucked the life out of the middle of last season.
If Brewer can do all that, the Hokies' offense might be good enough to finally turn a corner and Tech will win some more games.

Brewer just needs to cut back on interceptions to be effective, some of his throws at times last year were mind boggling. Last part of season was much better, his real strength as QB is be an effective leader and get the ball downfield more.

This is exactly what Virginia Tech won't do. Some surprises are coming September 7th. That's all I'm going to say.
But I'm betting that Bosa might not have the night he thinks he's going to have. But we'll see.
The challenge is if you key on Bosa you're risking letting Washington and Lewis run wild in your backfield. Washington has moved back to DT which is probably his best position.

# | Hokies Ready to Host Multitalented "757" Prospects Phillip Patterson, Devon Hunter in Late July It's really upsetting how there is no question that kids in Alabama, Florida, and Ohio are locks to stay in state. Why can't we have that here?
We've lost plenty of kids to other schools, including TTUN. Some kids grow up dreaming of playing for Ohio State which helps in recruiting, and winning is big as well; but a 17 year old kid makes decisions based on often unfathomable reasons. Personally, what I think is key is getting 50% of the top guys but finding the 3* talent that can be developed into great college players.
Your subconscious mind is way ahead of you.

Out of State schools feel closer because of it. I firmly believe that our on field product will help us with the top 10 in the state of VA once our offense gets their shit together. The next step is coaching stability.....can type...no more!
A fanatical Buckeye fan may take a peek on scUM forums to see what they are saying. I don't, but I have this "friend" who does all the time. :)
Of course scUM fans don't know all the factors that would go into a decision like this, but what you hear is frustration over having beat Ohio State twice since 2000 (2-13). One of those wins was in 2011 when OSU was trying to recover from Tattoo-gate and had Luke Fickell as interim coach. Their frustration has led to some pretty curious, superstitious conspiracy theories about the causes of their losing streak. Ohio State is a Nike team. Since scUM went to Adidas, they have been losing. So, it's natural and logical to go back to Nike - even as the lowest bidder. Such is the state of mind of a good chunk of our rival's fans - and maybe the administration!
Or they can Loeffler and promote Shane Beamer as he continues along the Jeff Bowden path.
