And he was mediocre for the regular season before the playoffs and has been mediocre since that run in the playoffs.
I remember both of those games very clearly. The ECU game was my first as a Hokie. Sitting goal line a couple rows up, it was quite the emotional introduction to this love hate relationship. My reaction on that play:

Is this Al Golden's last year at Miami if that prediction is correct? 6-6, to be 6-7 after the bowl game again.
And I will say this... I think you're dead on about emotion and having to mention that Nebraska play. Yes, I forgot about the David Wilson play, and housing it was one of the coolest moments in Lane history, but in terms of absolutely winning a game, that Nebraksa play took a loss and assured us the win.
I don't think there was a single person in the stadium after that play, including the Nebraska bench, who didn't think we were going to score from the 3. And considering how completely ill prepared the Huskers were on that series when they got the ball back, their coaching staff essentially tossed in the towel after that play. The only one that really didn't give up, and it showed on the field, was Suh.
Well done Joel. Refused to click on any of the devastation, but really enjoyed all the info.

losing a ton of talent on defense this year so very doubtful about 2016. I could see UNC, GT, or Miami in addition to us winning the coastal. There is no clear cut favorite IMO.
I know how these are calculated, but I've got to say...I found this week to be a bit anticlimactic (which is good for my heart). Either way, phenomenal series, Joel.
Dude this made my day because I just got back from the gym and was eating a banana when I was scrolling through TKP and saw this awesomeness. Leg for you!
When I finished reading about the Wilson play, I started getting ready to ask you about the probabilities of the Tyrod to Danny play. Scrolled down a bit and there it was already! Thanks for throwing that in there Joel. If only danny couldve made those last three yards. But like Power Hour above, I can gladly say I was at both the David Wilson game and the Nebraska game....I was also at the ECU game....first ever VT game as an undergrad....
Nice list and overall great effort. I am not a Stat's nerd but I can appreciate the effort. For me the most crushing play is still that botched call in the endzone where Danny Coale clearly caught that ball against big blue. Oh well, crazy plays are what makes the game awesome, frustrating, and down right impossible to not watch whenever you have the chance. Labor day is getting closer...

Would love to see this but honestly I would be happy(and think it is more realistic) to go 8-4 in the regular season after the last few years. Any improvement is something to look forward too!
I don't think its as much of a crapshoot as people currently think.
If we don't have the rash of injuries like last year, I have a very good feeling that there will be a noticeable gap between us and the rest of the Coastal by the end of the year. By 2016 we should be a fairly heavy favorite to take the division.
hey hey hey! NSFW!! /s
I was at both the Nebraska game and GT game! Both were unbelievable.
I think Clemson will be really good this year. All of their tough games are at home. They play Miami on the road, but Miami has VT, Clemson, FSU back to back to back (I predict this is Al's last season there). USCe is on the road. Everything else is at home. I think at worst they're a 2 loss team and undefeated in the ACC.
Someone thinks highly of the ACC. Would love to see this scenario though.

I mean, it is Mexico. Are we entirely sure they wouldn't put a corpse on trial?

It's very possible, but the coastal is a crap shoot right now in terms of picking a winner. Everyone has a ton of question marks. One of many teams can win it and I think everyone will have at least 2 losses. As for the atlantic it's going to come down to Watson and golson.
That's more of a motto. I guess the associated logo would be GG, for Gobble-Gobble.
FSU and Clemson recruit on a tier of their own in the ACC so unless we close the gap, or find a Bud Foster equivalent on offense, I wouldn't expect that to change.
LOLUVA dead last

Now he just needs to keep working on the academics to stay eligible.
