If Jimbo keeps up, he might have a list of quotes that will only be surpassed by the Ol Ball Coach himself.
I can only chuckle at "extraordinary measures." Um, yeah, ok.
One of my British FB friends introduced me to this group/song:
French once provided me with a convenience store chicken biscuit for breakfast before a fishing trip. Does that count?
In Bud we trust. He will work this out with the players left, moving on and "Next Man Up"
something something settled something
Fuck Matt Ryan FTFY
Two things I always watch on this series of TD's. 1) On the end around watch Vick. He lead blocks for Davis, but he never breaks into a run, he's jogging the whole time and stays in front of Davis to escort him into the end zone. He even looks back a time or two to see if Davis is keeping up. 2) I NEVER get tired of watching Wayne Ward's block. Damn! It was even better in person. The funny thing was the crowd saw it coming and we all let out an OOOH!! when he hit him and it took us a moment to realize that Davis was going to score.
I mean, it was always a wish of mine to have this song played by the band after every big run...
its easy to have a favorable turnover margin when we will intercept 10x a game!
The free continental breakfast is also nice.
Only 4 out of the 15 DLs on the Hokie Sports roster are listed as not having taken a redshirt year. Woody Barron (JR) and Ricky Walker (SO) are the only two DTs and Melvin Keihn (SO) and Laird Gardner (SR) are the only DEs. Also Laird Gardner joined the team as a walk on the Spring of his SO year and didn't dress for any games as a Junior, so if he's probably technically a R-JR, but is classified on the Hokie Sports roster as a SR since he doesn't expect to return for a fifth year.
He said give it to me, Roscoe, give it to me!
God I'm gonna miss that man
The defense should be solid this year at worst and has the potential to be one of Bud's best. That being said, our offense does not need to be a Top 25 offense. If we can be sound and take care of the turnovers and come in somewhere around Top 50. This will be a magical season, so all aboard!!! GO HOKIES!!
Ok, I'm struggling to follow some major subplots, and looking for some clarification/confirmation (WARNING SPOILERS BELOW):
Colin Farrell:
- Secretly feeding information to Vince Vaughn
- Keeping the mayor in the loop because the mayor doesn't trust Rachel McAdams/thinks this investigation could hurt his image
- He has told Rachel McAdams that he reporting to the Mayor?
Rachel McAdams:
- "Spying" on Colin Farrell for higher ups at the department b/c they don't trust him
- Knows that Colin Farrell has an informant, does not know that its Vince Vaughn, does not know his job/relationship to Casper
Taylor Kitsch:
- On this detail because he found the body, and as 'punishment' for being falsely accused of soliciting oral sex when pulling someone over
- No other ulterior motives (yet?)
Vince Vaughn:
- Invest 5 mil in real estate with Casper
- Now that Casper is dead, he has no clue where his money is, hence his search for Casper
- Manages some chemical plants that are destroying the environment?
Anything I'm missing? It seems like the three cops are bonding, despite their conflicting interests/orders from above
I feel like the motive for Casper's murder has something to do with the Mayor and Vince Vaughn wanting different things, and I'm sure our three cops will get caught up in the middle of it.
Agreed. Most saw fisher as a tweener between the rover and whip position. Hoping he gets it together and can contribute at whip. Also thought he could be a difference maker on special teams, but haven't heard much in that regard.

# | Bitter blog - Safety C.J. Reavis not enrolled at VT, appealing student conduct decision There is probably a reason why our last two 3-year starting safeties started at corner don't you think? They build the solid coverage foundation then bud has moved them back there (Jarrett and bonner amongst many others).
You guys will hate me, but I always thought that The Rooster by Alice in Chains would be a better fit. Slow build. Poultry reference. No matter the outcome, persistence always. Those kind of things. Sandman for any day game just is weird.
I know there were smatterings of Empire March from the band on sacks. I wish that would be an every sack/TFL/pass defensed occurrence. I loved hearing that after a JC Price sack circa 1995.

That is outside of my area of expertise, as I am not a VT alum. I will defer to those who have more familiarity with the conduct code.
I never fully understood Fisher's regard as a safety product. He played as an undersized linebacker at every level of his development except at all-star camps. He didn't look particularly dynamic, where Reavis looked like a perfect fit for Foster's ideal defense, which has five DB's all close to equally proficient at both run support and coverage. Fisher didn't do anything in the spring to stand out at the whip spot (note, Foster highlighted Shegog bulking up to around 220 and moving to whip, which suggests to me that he will be ahead of Fisher at whip on the depth chart) and he clearly wasn't comfortable at rover or he would not have been moved to whip at 190 pounds. I get that sinking feeling that Fisher is either a late bloomer, or won't be a contributor.
I hope he had an amazing summer, and comes in and plays like a dynamo. But, the safe bet is to expect one of the kids that Bud has shown trust in before like Frye, to win the job.
Hmm. No, I think you may have misunderstood. From my own reading, it sounds like we are stacked at both rover and free safety with significant coverage on all passing plays where running is expected.
Yes, that's what this says. Indeed.
Maybe its just me, but the VT MO towards going vertical for the last half decade has felt like: 1st and 10 on the first possession, hail mary. Don't try it again until the desperation last play of the game.
Then again, I'm just a frustrated fan watching a wasted throw away play in the moment.
I like Alleyne, but again, Bud wants experience in the rover and free safety spots. Plus, Alleyne isn't enrolled yet as noted above.
Yeah, they definitely didn't run all those gos and fades just for funsies.
Don't you bring reasonable, logical questions into this discussion when we have #SOURCES

They are. I got a ticket from the Blacksburg police who notified the university, who sent a letter home to Mom and Dad. Thanks....
