He's looking inside to seal the LB and give JC space outside. He misses the safety, but that's just because of where he's looking, not because he "doesn't want to hit anybody." Not his fault Teller got there first and planted the guy.
Good point about Hardhome. Thats not the way things go in the book, so for the show to go through the trouble of taking that direction, giving us such an awesome episode and then set up between Jon and the Night King at the end (not to mention the sheer cost of producing an episode like that)...and then just kill him and not come back to any of that at all makes little logical sense.

demoralizing? sure. Utterly head scratching? Absolutely. But the thing is, that game was tied at this point and the game ended tied. I haven't seen a graph of win probability, but I'm guessing this play didn't move the needle as much as most of the others Joel's covered in the series.
A turnover on your 45 is bad, but I'm guessing the most devastating play resulted in immediate points (as in, pick six or punt block for a TD) not just the chance to score points.

If you don't like that a team uses Redskins as it's name, there are 31 other teams you can choose to follow. It really is that simple. And as for those trying to make the argument that "words can become offensive over time," I really don't think anyone walking around in 2015 who uses the word Redskin is referring to anything other than a football team. The word hasn't become offensive. The word hasn't changed. People's delicate sensibilities have just decided to take offense at it. That doesn't make the word wrong. That makes their perception wrong.
