I was maxing in my high schools weight room the summer before my senior year in preparation for the upcoming football season. I went down pretty low, but likely wasn't below parallel. My coaches counted it, and I can brag about it, so that's what matters. Although the more years get between then and now, the less it means. It was 19 years ago after all...
1. he leaned in and she fussed at him
2. he leaned in again and she turned and fussed at him and raised her fist.
3 . THREE seconds after she raised her fist, he grabbed her wrist, pulled her arm down, and pulled her toward him.
4. she screamed at him, her last words being "LET ME GO!" and then, WHILE STILL IN HIS GRASP, kneed and attempted to punch him.
5. WHILE STILL HOLDING HER (at that point for about 5 seconds), he decked her.
before he grabbed her, it was an argument at a bar. after he grabbed her, it was open and shut battery. he was in total control of the outcome.
The reason I want the stars to apply to both teams is that, really you're celebrating the accomplishments of the Soccer Federation, and not the individual teams. US Soccer has won 3 World Cups. Brazil has won 5 World Cups. Germany has won 7. Its an accomplishment of the federation as a whole, and should be celebrated as such. One Nation, One Team, right?
And to condense replies, yes, I do think that Brazil should add a 6th star if the women win the World Cup. I actually think they will have to, as Brazil officially changes the crest of the national soccer program to include the new star with every title. Its why both men and women wear 5 stars.
And I absolutely love the championship stars, and I think it should be adopted across all sports, nationally and domestically. I love what the NBA has done with the gold tag on jerseys for franchises with a NBA title win. It would be awesome to see something similar migrate to other sports, and see how creatively some franchises can make do it.

I agree that the stars should be separate. I mean, if the Brazilian women won the World Cup, would the men add a sixth star to their jerseys? I doubt it. And would the Brazilian women start wearing six stars on their jerseys? That would be a bit misleading.
On a related note, I love the championship stars, and I wish every international competition would follow suit. Can you imagine if the US Olympic Basketball Team wore a star for every Gold Medal they won? I think it would look something like this...
As to #2, yes I was asking hypothetically if the only thing in this situation that was different was instead of a girl it was a smaller guy. All other actions being the exact same.
In that case, I think you could say with some assurance that this QB would still be on the football team. He certainly would have been disciplined, but I think he is still on the team and taking it a step further we probably don't even know a thing about this incident beyond "suspension for violating team rules"
I am with you in that I am not saying this guy was in the right in either case, far from it. Just an interesting thought as you said to how the situation would be viewed differently. I think it could be argued that a large athletic man could kill or seriously injure a small weak man with his bare hands just as easily as he could do that to a woman. And yet the public perception of those two actions is very different.
But it can work in reverse as well. I have seen small guys beat the ever living crap out of guys that thought they were tough just because they were "big". I guess the lesson here is (and one I live by every day)...don't hit people unless you have a really really really good reason or necessity to do so.

As I read the section of the news story that details the Florida Law regarding redacting victim information, police are only allowed to redact information from the report if it meets one of the criteria listed (sexual assault, child abuse or domestic conflict) and the victim requests in writing to have their personal information redacted.

That's not a squat by any powerlifting federation's standards. If you actually were squatting below parallel, according to exrx, you would be beyond elite for every weight class. You should have pursued a career in professional powerlifting.
There are other strength standards websites that are less generous than exrx, but chances are you were ego lifting and never broke parallel.

well duh its a different situation. I was trying to say whether you EVER hit a women. There is always going to be different situations, its not black and white like most people think. If you fear for you life and fighting back is your ONLY option, than you have to fight back. Obviously Johnson should of just walked away, but I'm just talking hypothetically.

Both of them are in the wrong, mostly him than her, but she doesnt get out clean without ANY blame. I don't condone hitting women at all. I was raised not to put my hands on women no matter what. Im a pretty big guy (6'4" 225 lbs) so I could take the hits by this women in the video and not be fazed by it but lets just say hypothetically Ronda Rousey was in the same room as you and she was about to beat the shit out of you and there's no way of escaping being around her.... Are you going to keep taking the beat down from her or are you going to try to defend yourself by hitting her back? There's not a right answer here. You either get the living shit beat out of you and risk getting severe injuries, maybe even fatal, or you try to defend yourself by hitting her. Again I don't condone hitting women, never have, never will. But a minority of people might make that tough choice depending on the situation.

But the situation presented here is clearly different than the hypothetical you're proposing. He could have walked away with next to zero difficulty. That's why he is also in the wrong, when he could have been in the right.

That seems like the most likely explanation for why Conte and Teller who are in the top 3 for every other lift don't appear on the front squat list at all.
But 30 second later you'd need something else to pass the time.
