I wonder if any other team has two tight ends on the Mackey Award watch list

Edit: I just checked and indeed, no other school can say that.

As usual great write up French!

I have been waffling as to whether I thought we have a chance against OSU, but this gives me some real evidence to support why I think we will play them tough.

I look forward to reading what you think about our offense and especially the OL

I mean, I can blur this right now, so that's not really an issue. I did that over the weekend with a picture that was 100% NSFW. I'm giving this one the benefit of the doubt as it is borderline...though the implication is clear. Might go ahead an obscure it until TH13 comes back...will happily remove my DV here as it is not punitive, just upholding guidelines.

Brainfart. Could we maybe implement some sort of NSFW tagging that works like the spoiler tags on IMDb? You have to hover and click to show the photo? Might not be that hard of a coding addition since so many sites use that functionality.

Of course Baez will go to this whether it happened or not. There is no way to prove it did or did not happen so he is creating doubt. This lawyer defended Casey Anthony, he's smart, and this is always a defense lawyers first step in a case with a lot of public observability.

Except the noticeable lack of our classic strong running game. Our o-line was our biggest weakness last year, and Lefty compensated for that with a lot of west coast-style passing and 4-5 WR formations. I give Brewer a ton of credit in that game, as well as great performances from the TEs and Rogers. I don't think we would've seen that approach pre-Lefty.

First, as I said, the quote I used is not 100% true all of the time. All I would say to the Ronda Rousey argument is that the percentage of average females on earth who you come in contact with at a bar, who could actually kill an average male using nothing but their knuckles, feet, and elbows is incredibly low (Clearly, I have no scientific research around this, just me thinking out loud to myself). Thus, IMO, it doesn't justify thunder punching every female who takes a swipe at you because they could possibly be Ronda Rousey (or some other female equivalent). My take from the beginning has been and always will be that she should not have kneed him and should not have attempted to punch him, but the punch he threw while holding her arm down was savage and disgusting, again IMO. Lastly, no one will convince me that he couldn't have dissolved her "threat" using some kind of force and physicality other than what he did. There are degrees of criminality and charges for everything, his charge should be more.

2. So I have seen this argument, or hypothetical question posted earlier in the thread. And I like it, it really made me think, would I have felt differently if it had been a scrawny guy who he punched into next year? To me the question needs clarification, are we talking about a scrawny male being placed into the shoes of that girl and committing the same exact actions she did? That admittedly is a tough question for me to answer, but I'll try to keep it in the context of replacing the girl's actions in the video with a scrawny guy. If that is the case, then yes I still have a problem with the punch that Johnson threw while restraining now a scrawny male instead. BUT, as I admitted in my original post, my repulsion would have been less, right, wrong, or indifferent. I think what sometimes is missed in all of these types of tough discussions is how each of our upbringings and life experiences shape our opinions on all kinds of things/topics/situations. I appreciate the debate and I appreciate differing opinions that make me think!

I would disagree she was equally to blame, though she shares some blame, but we can argue that and it's pretty irrelevant.

My comment was aimed at people who say he was simply defending himself and seem to feel he was justified in doing so. I've even seen a few comments with people saying if she instigated it out of the blue he should have punched her and they would have too. Regardless of whether or not she started the whole thing, he had a number of options to "defend" himself. That punch was not defending himself from a threat in my opinion.

I think you and I are essentially on the same page.

never thought I would find another person from Nevada, and before I got to VT as well. I spent my entire pre-VT life in Fernley. Played Elko many times in sports.

Nice to meet you here
