I have them as well.
Both sides, starts nearly in the middle of eyesight. Always triggered by high stress and high physical activity at the same time. May be after a short period of dehydration. BP is higher by intuition rather than instrumentation backed. Always happens at work. Accompanied by apparent sinus headache which will persist for a day regardless of medication. Visual symptoms expand slowly over about 20 mins.
Cannot read over broadening semicircle geometric shapes for about 20 minutes. Then symptoms disappear except the headache remains for several hours and does not respond to medication.
Somehow comforting to know I'm not alone on this.
to quote Raylan Givens:
"If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes every day, YOU'RE the asshole"
Agreed. Actions have consequences and he chose his path. The site was significantly worse to use for me at the end of his membership as he picked fights and moved goalposts in ever forum he posted in.
Frankly I'm tired of the posts advocating for him too. Its Joe's site and hes repeatedly said DC made his bed. Let's move on
Yeah, my buddy is an engineer and gave me one of their ballcaps.
It's a jackass looking back at you with the Big Ass Fans script.
Wondruss.
Press 2 of them around a big hunk of ice cream.
But I loved that presser.
TIL. Thanks.
Great article, Shelton, as always. This paragraph made me spit out my coffee. I'm not second guessing your analytics, but from my vantage point CMY teams have always "hit it and quit it"... meaning that they shoot the ball and run. I don't think I've ever seen a CMY coached team where anyone, namely the guards, are interested in rebounding the basketball, particularly on the offensive side of the court.
Reading this makes me second guess what I'm seeing!
Under Young, guards are expected to rebound the ball more than most systems. This is mainly due to compensate for not having super athletic big men โ Tobi Lawal being an obvious exception, but Christian Gurdak not so much. (Tech is also playing undersized).
DC Wilson couldn't interact with our community without being an asshole.
Not true. There were many times when civil discussions were had where DC wasn't a jerk. It wasn't all the time, to be sure, but he wasn't a jerk all the time either.
Look, comment threads like this exist because (a) he did provide some value to the board, and (b) his name keeps being brought up, sometimes in similar manner to the way he was constantly referenced in posts/comment threads he was not previously involved in. In some ways (not all, mind you), he was like the bear that kept getting poked. Does that excuse his behavior? Nope. Did it exacerbate things? Possibly.
It's not my board. Like Joe said, DC made his life more difficult. But I think we as a community can recognize that there was a certain subset of posters that had a hard-on for him and kept poking at him, which definitely contributed to making Joe's life more difficult. I don't know if there's a way forward that might allow for DC's return, but I guarantee that if people keep referring to him, there will be people saying that he should come back, mainly because he did have some really good insights on VT sports. (And I'll note for the record, that I have been diligent as of late not to call for that out of nowhere, even as I'll respond to posters that do.)
So for now....

While the comic is good, Big Ass Fans is actually a very well known manufacturer of large fans for exactly this purpose: https://bigassfans.com/
Just leaving it here for the uninitiated.
Because unlike the old boys club of the ACC, the SEC doesn't care about anything other than making money and winning titles.
I get the impression Joe and the Mods are fed up with even trying to figure out a way to make it work anymore. Sometimes you just have to say enough is enough.
Probably because he's not playing well.
Nope. My most important rule I teach my kids is to be kind.
DC Wilson couldn't interact with our community without being an asshole. It's not hard to be kind. Instead he made a choice to be a jerk.
Is there a possibility of a software update that gives someone a limited number of posts a day? Maybe if each comment is a finite resource, those comments may be more.....considered. That would keep the insights on the board without the more antagonistic aspects. This might even be a good alternative to a ban because it keeps posters on the board and subscribing.
I don't know how we didn't already get this guy in the portal.

Just buy some Big Ass Fans...
What exactly is an ass-fan? ;^)

Point of Information: Yes, there was no hyphen in the above comment, but the concept still holds.
I don't know the full depth but I did see one interesting interaction a couple days back:
- Sergio Render had a tweet effectively saying he'd love to come back to support Tech in a non-coaching role.
- Roc replied saying Pry sucks / lies.
- Sergio responded to Roc to defend Pry and state he's always been honest / transparent with him but he won't pretend to know Roc's story.
Speaking of, how did they let a 'Cuse alum get the reigns of the $EC conference? He's a yankee and from outside the circle.
First time I remember having one was in middle school and I freaked out because I couldn't read. My mom worked at the elementary school and came and got me, then took me to the Naval hospital in Norfolk when she got off work. Of course, by then, I had filled up on cafeteria spaghetti and hours had gone by so it was all gone and nobody had a clue. Now, I just peace out and wait for it to go away. I do get the dehydration thing as well, as I'm chronically dehydrated since a kid. The sneeze thought is interesting, and I have it as well, and sneezing fits that last up to 20 sneezes.
Ahh, so Franklin probably got the hell out of State College at just the right time
NEWS: Move over, FSU. There's a new FY25 debt king: Penn State. The Blue and White are more than a half-billion-dollars in the red, per @Penn_State's latest NCAA financial disclosures. Details for @Sportico๐https://t.co/rYFCyjI3uCโ Daniel Libit (@DanielLibit) February 6, 2026
I get the aura on both sides, more noticeable on the right. And yes, the exact headache you describe on the left. I know it's coming on when I can't see all the letters in a word and I can't get whole words out. It has happened in the car when I'm driving. I can function fine but I know it's over when I can sing along with the radio. Happened a couple times in meetings at work...first time they thought I was having a stroke..."make a smile for me". Went to Mayo and had the full battery of tests. Like my AFIB's they are often associated with dehydration, but bright lights will trigger the ocular as well. I also have "achoo" syndrome (photic sneeze reflex). Wonder if there is any correlation?
I don't know about their idiot alumni, but I do know one of their current WRs is in a while boatload of legal trouble right now and probably should not have been allowed to play last season

Perfect gif.
