This was the thing that I hated about an otherwise great presser. It sounds out of touch with reality. There isnt a single team with a Braxton Miller, JT Barrett, Cardale Jones QB room. That 3rd string youre excited about will start for another team next season.

Three deep at every position means around 80 players depending on your skills positions. That's more than you can travel with. It's about 56 to have what I would say is a good depth chart.

This sounds like he wants to build a 1990s championship roster not a 2026 roster. It makes me worry about his entire plan if the first step.is to build a roster no one else can build.

Now this is a presser and he's just trying to win the presser so this might not be anything he actually believes he can/will do. But to the guy not being paid $10 million to coach football this sounds like something that shouldn't have been said.

I don't know about their idiot alumni, but I do know one of their current former as of yesterday WRs is in a whole boatload of legal trouble right now and probably should not have been allowed to play last season

FTFY

Don't get me wrong, it's bad. But most of that is debt the university is taking on to revamp the stadium.

I think VT is more cautious and will raise money before announcing a project like that.

I have been subject to ocular migraines for decades. Your description of the multicolored C fits my experience to a tee. And my experience is a multicolored C strobe like light. Hard to really explain to others this visual "show" that occurs during one. I don't suffer from diabetic complications but also wonder about blood sugar interaction as in cases when I simply need to eat. However I have had plenty of them that I know are not related to blood sugar. My eyes have always been pretty light sensitive.

Agree. It's an online forum and it's not perfect. I appreciate the various viewpoints that are presented and that was/is a positive experience for me. But as others have noted recently I may not be the smartest member of the community, so take that for what it's worth.

I completely understand Joe's position and appreciate all that he does to keep things moving in the right direction. The positive vibes in the program are a breath of fresh air and I'm glad this community is more open and engaging because of it. Hopefully things continue in a positive direction for all of us.

DC Wilson couldn't interact with our community without being an asshole.

Maybe that's your experience but I've seen plenty of other discussions on here (including many with myself) that he was in that were constructive. And if you don't like what he posts, ignore it! Doesn't take much to not respond/give him attention or scroll.

But not my website, not my rules. Just saying I appreciated his off the cuff takes and comments that a lot of us were thinking but didn't want to say it on here.

Totally agree! Was just reminiscing and letting the younger crowd know how things USED to be. Two stadium experiences stood out as unique.

1) The game where the San Diego Chicken was there; at one point, he was passed overhead hand by hand from field level to the tippy top of East stands; then there were drunk folks saying "see if the chicken can fly" and thankfully soberer heads quickly got him down and away from there.

2) the stadium cup chain-one Duke game when the Hokies were comfortably up 25-35 points late in the third (no REALLY- it HAPPENED-hard as it might be to believe after recent performance on the field), someone decided to build a cup chain and the stadium cups(which at that time were hard plastic- with a 1" 'lip at the top that let them stack easily) started flying from all corners of the East Stands. The chain took about 15-20 minutes to complete ...each cup adding just 1" to the length; it reached all 115-120 rows from the field to the wall at the top. (Probably multiple thousands of cups; it was held for about ten to fifteen seconds once completed, then the folks holding them up threw em up in the air .

PS- I really miss the times we blew out an opponent early and 1/3 of the way through the fourth quarter, the band would start the slow build up (one instrument at a time building to full band in a slow crescendo) of ' the classic song 'Kiss Em Goodbye"(na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey he-e-ey, go-od--by-ee"). Now that's generally not allowed unfortunately...

So we all know the VT tradition of the snowball fight on the Drillfield? I saw a Facebook video the other day - after the snow/ice, UVA posted a video of someone ice skating very daintily on the "grounds." I guess that's what they do on a snow day, lol.

I've never paid much attention to school's balance sheets / debts but holy crap that just seems like a massive number. Maybe Adidas will bail them out again

Props to you, that all sounds awesome. I mean, I have a beagle rescue, but I can only imagine the other things you listed.

he was like the bear that kept getting poked. Does that excuse his behavior? Nope. Did it exacerbate things? Possibly.

This is how I feel, that there were some that really egged him on and perhaps unnecessarily "poked the bear" due to his history of hot takes. It's a bummer we had to lose a mainstay like him, but I also understand.

Is there a possibility of a software update that gives someone a limited number of posts a day?

It's something that could be coded, but I am not going to write it. It's simply a bad use of the limited time I have to invest in TKP. Instead I am trying to find contract writers, maintain the existing codebase, edit and publish pieces for people to enjoy. And honestly, I don't see the argument to give him his Nth chance. DC could have changed his behavior at any given time of the years he was asked to, but he didn't do that and finally enough was enough.
