I would say that any doubt about truth of the info was corroborated by my source (#4), and that source is EXTREMELY trusted.
Last year it was completely packed. I got in a little later than I would have liked and ended up parking past past the rec fields and just walking over to a friends tailgate.
It's not gonna happen. VCU is a better program than us and now they're getting the money to go with it. He's waiting for Coach K to retire.
...and these are the reasons Whit gets paid the big bucks. He has to be able to make a case to someone like this if they are his top target and be successful in bringing that person in. I agree that right now the state of the two programs is not really comparable but we don't know what Whit is going to lay out to a coach about his future plans for the program.
"Wasn't wildly successful" is an improvement over "dumpster fire".
JJ was definitely a downgrade, and one that VT paid for over the last two years and will pay for another 3 years.
As for Seth not getting a HC gig right after the VT firing, he seems to be doing alright on ESPN these days; If they pay so badly then why does John Gruden keep turning down NFL gigs to do about the same role?
No, Seth being one of the ugliest commentators on sports TV instead of twittering 17 yr-old kids for a mid-major should not be an argument against his coaching.
Dunphy went to LaSalle, coached at Penn for years and took over for his good friend John Chaney at Temple. No way he leaves Philly.
No way in the world he would leave Nova for VT. Nova is such a better job and its not even close. Like at all.

To me that means his top choices are guys who are either assistants or head coaches in the tournament right now. Danny Manning! I'm gonna get annoying about this, maybe if I get really annoying Whit will just do it to shut me up.

Greenberg didn't deserve to find out from the media but he earned every bit of being fired. You don't run off five assistant coaches in three years that all took lateral moves because you are a good coach to work for. The players spoke to it as well. He needed to go and did.

Just some of my observations are thats he wants a coach that is will to go head to head against the big time coaches for recruits, he is willing to open the checkbook not only for bball but I believe for fball as well, he will do his due dillegence in finding a replacement, made a great point that JJ was here with program for 7 years and recruited many of the players that were in the program, is trying to improve experience and game atmosphere in cassell. Stiney listed at the top the major things to take away form the presser. In all I believe we finally have an AD that is going to lead us to greatness!
Chicken Hill is normally pretty packed with tailgaters.

I am not a big basketball guy but I have learned a ton of stuff about the game and the intricacies/drama/vision in looking for coaches. So thank you and a turkey leg for you.
The only reason I run is to try and keep the beer weight off. Emphasis on try because it hasn't been too effective.

Seth was a great guy, but no. Yes, we beat some good teams in his tenure. Hell, you could say we beat some GREAT teams during his tenure. But we also lost some completely and utterly unfathomable games that no competent coach should ever allow a team to lose. And even in games where we won, we still did so in extremely ugly fashion.
We deserve better than thinking being on the bubble is as good as it will ever get for us.

Weaver was probably more to blame for the OOC scheduling, but have to agree with everything else.
Jeff King came up HUGE in the Duke game in 2005. You can see his sweet hook in this recap of the game:
If I'm not mistaken he also played a HUGE part in a 5 point play that completely turned the game around for us. I think it might have been the play on the replay but someone hit a 3 with a foul on the play, missed the free throw, King grabbed the rebound and nailed the hook shot. Went from down 3 to up 2 in 1 possession and that one play got us the momentum to carry through to the end.
Is Taraschke back after having left the program? If he hasn't you might want to remove him from the depth chart.
So is your first impression that Augie Conte might be another Jake Johnson, gym freak but unable to put it together on the field?
