This. The wonderful days of Tech football, where fans were in the stands the entire game, no matter the score.
Another one that I haven't seen mentioned yet. 1995 vs. Syracuse. It was Donovan McNabb's freshman year with the Orange. All the media hype was about him, Syracuse was ranked, we weren't. It was bitterly cold. Which meant you just had to drink more to stay warm. Crowd was loud and rowdy.
We were up something like 17-7 at halftime, and McNabb had been running for his life the whole game. I also think up to that game, we'd knocked every starting QB we'd faced out of the game that season. Cornell Brown was having an absolutely beastly season. They came out in the second half and the defense clamped down even tighter, we cruised to a 31-7 win. It was awesome. There was a rain of oranges and suger cubes onto the field as the game ended because us fans were starting to realize we had a good shot at a major bowl game (and that 95 Sugar Bowl win over Texas is still one of my favorite games I've attended).

I miss those days. I need more cash so I can go to more games and be part of bring Lane back to it's former self.

I was thirteen years old. Perhaps one of my proudest Hokie moments in my life. DeAngelo Hall rips Roscoe Parrish deep in Miami territory and takes it to the house. We destroyed Miami in that game, and no game since then has ever been so loud. Lane Stadium was an impenetrable fortress then, a place where opposing teams were humiliated and beaten into the ground. Cheers to the new AD bringing back the swag of lane stadium.
The NE gates are going to be a mess.
So excited for getting these guys on the field! The question now: Who has the better shot to play next season right off the bat? Based on the film, both of them look really solid.
Looks like the Thoroughbreds reign is finally coming to a close; I don't think any of the big players in VA for 2015 are considered leans to them right now. Now if we could just keep half the top ten in state, this class will be great.

Great point on Hockey, completely forgot that those guys still drag themselves all the way to Roanoke to play their games. Even from a club sport perspective, it could be an even cost draw if they were able to accommodate it in a new arena. Having the Cassel Castle would be good with Hokie Stone used to frame the arena and its integration with the rest of campus....even the Corps of Cadets are going Hokie Stone with their new dorms that are replacing Brodie and Rasche. They are supposedly going to use bricks from the two buildings to replace the concrete VT walkway in the middle of the Corps quad so that it really stands out from the rest of the campus walkways.

The upset over Clemson in 2006 will always have a special place in my heart because it was the very first night game I even went to in Lane.

That was the first game I ever brought my mom to at Tech. She had been a longtime TV football fan but had never been to a game in RL.

Gotcha, my bad. Folks on these boards have been overly sensitive about ncaa violations through twitter and such so I thought you were being serious. And for the record, I like that Joe can interview prospects. I have no problem at all with it, I was just using it as a basis of comparison.

i actually liked the governor episodes. i thought it was interesting how he was coming back to humanity but then he just went full on governor again. dude cant help himself. either way i think we can all agree season 4 has been way better than let's hang around the farm and talk about our feelings season 2 or were going to war but lets discuss it for 5 episodes first season 3. as far as the mid-season finale goes (who does that?) it was just as bad to me as the red wedding. it was a great episode dont get me wron, but i was traumatized.
Yeah, Sean Glennon was really hurt by the fact that we had an O line that couldn't stop a high school defense, he had NO peripheral vision, and a fan base that wanted a scrambling QB rather than a pocket passer. That is still the case for a lot of the fans. They want every new QB to be the next Mike Vick, Bryan Randall, Tyrod Taylor, etc.

Actually, the defense in general in Dallas has been disapointing, and adding a playmaker like Kyle would be a huge benefit to the team even if the LB position is where we need to add the most depth this offseason.

It's an ncaa violation if I find out through a personal contact what his intentions are? Am I missing something, how is that an ncaa violation? Joe, the CEO of a clearly VT biased small business, can interview a prospect but I can't find out a prospect's intentions through his family? I must be missing something.
I've been keeping in touch with his cousin already, my comment doesn't change anything, nobody's violating any personal space man. I won't say anything further.
That is a very cool way to include in the future the history of that part of campus. Thanks for sharing that.
