College football was not on CBS on Thursday nights. The NFl wont have much of an impact on college football.
That's why I said that I'm happy with the class overall. It's top 20, which is respectable, but with the talent in state that we lost to UVA (for example) it could have been that much better.

They should make Friday night NFL games -
It would give the players an extra day to prepare/recover from a Sunday game, PLUS who cares about the college games on Fridays.... (Minus VT/UVA this year)
I'm sure every fan base has at least one on the Tide's roster.
Read your own image, and take a deep breath. This day clearly isn't a disaster - we've got a great class coming in, that patches a ton of immediate holes on the roster. Our O-line has depth and talent across the board! We have tons of good QB prospects for proper competition! And we still got great defensive players. Our defense has been consistently awesome WITHOUT these couple of studs we missed on - it will continue to be so. Offense is where we all agreed we needed help and that's where we got it. Would those 5-stars have been nice? sure. But this class is still really really good. pump the brakes.

Yea he looked skinny on the show. He should be over 200 by the spring and maybe in the 205-210 range by the fall.
Thursday night won't be part of the flex scheduling, the same way that Monday night is not. They only change the time of the game, not the date.
We picked up solid 4* linebacker and are about to pick up a solid 4* wide receiver and both players fill a position of need. While signing day could have been a little better I don't consider it to be a disappointment.

It wouldn't change anything. Kids would just wait until that day to announce. Nothing is going to make losing kids you've chased for tgwo years and still have time to recruit someone else be able to happen unless they stop nationally pampering and praising these kids so they announce when their mind is made up and not at the deadline so they can get attention as long as possible.

We didn't get the top talent, yeah, but we didn't exactly get a bunch of nobodies either.

i don't have evidence, but i'm guessing a lousy NFL game will draw far better ratings than a great college football game...especially on broadcast TV. ESPN has to be taking notice, especially since not many Thursday night games are great, but rather very good at best. i hope the ACC ensured no Wednesday night games in our latest contract. at least we can use that as leverage for getting our ACC Network if nothing else...
It's all good. I apologize for the post. I didn't intend to offend. I was trying to make a bold analogy for the UVa and VT football fan. It was unnecessary...as are about 99.95% of all my posts.
