Pittsburgh just drafted Landry Jones in the 4th round last year.

I think Logan Thomas going to the Cardinals and sitting behind Carson Palmer a couple of years would be great for him especially if he's the pet project of an offensive minded head coach who is also a former Hokie QB in Bruce Arians.

When I was 15, I was committed to not drinking. Then, I got drunk.

Kids are kids. They shouldn't be forced into life-altering commitments when they're sophomores and juniors. Give them as much time as possible (National Signing Day is pretty late when you think about college acceptances) and let them figure out their futures.

I am a Steelers fan, so I wouldn't mind Logan landing in Pittsburgh.

Here's a sneaky-good spot for Logan to end up: Tennessee. They just hired Ken Whisenhunt as their next HC, who is somewhat of a quarterback whisperer and offensive coach. Jake Locker can't stay healthy unfortunately, and Ryan Fitzpatrick should never be the answer. If Locker can stay healthy, Whisenhunt can let Logan learn the ropes, and use him when Locker eventually injures himself out of Nashville.

Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7. My bold prediction game for the year. The Hokies block a punt and dominate the whole game that leads yet another 31-7 beatdown of Miami.

This looks vaguely familiar

DeBerry is in high demand. I know that Butch Jones at Tennessee loves him. He has been a high priority target for Shane Beamer, much like CJ Reavis was in this class. I think he would be a spectacular fit at backer.

Related question...when is Tyrod's contract up? Ravens need to either come to their senses about Flacco or let Tyrod go somewhere with a chance to win the starting job.

Hello, it's ice cream, I've just been hanging out over here being delicious while you waste your stomach.

I'd be more than pleased with 9-3. Thinking losses at Ohio State, UNC & Duke. Have to avoid losing games they should win, which plagued us this year. I think naturally we will drop one of these "trap" games. Put me down for 8-4. Think 2015 could be the year the program gets back over the hump.

What a great, insightful article. So many men and women in our administration/coaching have shown such loyalty to this institution. For him to be passed on, yet still desire to help and do what's best for VT, says slot about his character. To see what role Stinespring was relegated to, and to see his commitment, is admirable. But the underlying theme here is the culture that has been bred at Virginia Tech. From the top down, our officials and leaders are living out the motto, "that I may serve". Go Hokies.

Is anyone else as worried as I am about the serious lack of LB depth and recruits we have?

I am really hoping we have a surprise or two on signing day for more LB. Or else we might actually need to move Edmunds over.

This is obviously a way too early list, but there are a few big question marks out there for me. I want to see how the D line filters out. I assume Dadi will step up, but the depth and inexperience is a big thing in my mind. BC with the power game and GT just being annoying are not automatic wins at all.

On the other side of the ball, I hope the O line continues to improve under Searels. We have to get the running game back. I know many of us have questioned the RB rotation, but is Shane the guy to blame? I'm not sure who decides that. Anyways it will take a full team effort if Duke keeps playing like... Duke?

Oh and the whole QB thing. Given the question marks that we will get some answers to during spring, my way too early prediction is 8-4 with room to improve.
