Spring game, Koastal. Spring game.
His non-development issues were fired last year. Logan supposedly helped out in the recruitment of Ford by telling Ford during a visit that he has learned more in one season under Loeffler than in three years under O'Cain.
Will you analyze Durkin too?
I believe that is a direct quote. GT isn't great on grammar.
There are probably many highlights of him making complete passes in highschool.
If I had to come home after the weekly grind of work/kids/school/homework/practice on Friday night and immediately fall into the nerve racking exercise that is watching the Hokies on TV, I would probably spontaneously combust before the end of the 1st qtr.
Besides...from the team's perspective, there's much to lose, little to gain.
All good points.
I'm not really trying to call anyone in particular a "basher" or whatever. I was trying to use sarcastica to say that I'm tired of how these types of conversations would always devolve into camps of Leal "Truthers", and then Logan "supporters" bashing the Truthers, and on and on and on. Not saying that everyone that participated in these conversations fell into one of these categories (far from it), but there was a vocal portion who did.
But, hopefully that is behind us, now that Logan is on to better things.
To paraphrase a recent comment about LT3 by a scout, You can teach a kid to throw; you can't teach him to throw the ball 55 yards in the air.
Q: Why does GT use the term "ramblin wreck"?
A: ramblin: because they're punch drunk from having played Virginia Tech; wreck:the result of having played Virginia Tech in the first place
well I think we can rule out jersey numbers
Is anyone surprised by this? We have 3 years of game film on Thomas. Every NFL team already knows exactly what they're getting at this point.
The quote about not developing him is just embarrassing for VT. I hope we see continual improvement from whomever starts next year.
I wonder how SL would have handled the Sean Glennon mandatory, once a game, across your body from the near to far sideline throw?
"I can teach a guy to throw. I can't teach 6'3 200 with a big arm."- NFL Scout
By this post, I was in no way endorsing Motley in any way. I think if you watch more of the film, his upside coming out of high school was limited by the Wing-T style of offense that his team ran, which for those of you who have not played or coached in a Wing-T means that the quarterback is rarely given an opportunity to be a pocket passer in that system. Instead, most throws are on bootlegs and sprintouts, and without the benefits of true QB coaching, most wing-T QBs that go forward to big time college football are great athletes with great arms who need to learn the mechanics of the position. You can't teach the arm though.
This wasn't a post to overanalyze Motley as a QB prospect. Instead, I shared it to give people an idea of the raw ability he brings to the table. We will do a much more detailed deep dive on Leal, Motley, and Ford following their performance in the spring game.
I'm going to be that guy... but it's "you're"
I know... Rough crowd. Kid throws it 55-60yds in the air, but it falls incomplete = he won't be a QB. It's one play. I've heard he was really impressing Coach Loeffler with his abilities (in Spring and fall camp). However, I also heard that someone forwarded SL the video of this play and SL became disgusted and immediately requested a position change for him.
I think I understand why I was down voted one (it ain't an issue), was it because I kinda went the personal attack route and called him names?
More curious. Sometimes when 99% of my posts are (intended to be) funny I can walk a borderline of hilarity and being mean.
Unless that kid trolls our message boards, in which case, you're at GT, you can do that.
I really liked this article, it made me not feel bad for what I did while on their campus on a certain Thursday night last fall.
They should re-title it "Butt Hurt:The Story of a Georgia Tech Fan"
.... Well GOOD FOR YOU.... story-topper...
Just two that I see as the next AD at VT, Mike Kelly . He has a lot of ties with the ACC and the head office of the ACC. Could run VT as a money maker in Sports. The AD from Cincinnati , Babcock. I believe he could fit in at VT, bring the BB programs back to a ACC level and he has done great in Fund Raising there. These two I like. I hope I didn't put a curse by picking them...
Leave Friday nights for the high schools. (and yes, that includes the Big East)
I hate the terminology "______ basher"
Just because someone might have a criticism of someone or something does not make them a "basher" of it. Maybe, just maybe, some people actually know what they're talking about while criticizing, and have reasoning to back it up. Now, if they're going off endlessly without even bothering to defend these critiques, yes, they're a basher, but the barbs directed at people for simply having an opinion that differs from your own is just way over the top.
Come on, (and macraw, this is not directed at you) this whole labeling of "bashers", "True Hokies", "PATT", "NATT" etc... leave that shit on TSL. Can't we just have civil, yet hilarious conversations without devolving the whole thing into a barb-fest of easily thrown insults to try and silence others?

Exactly... and many more completed passes that are not readily available on film.
