I love watching Wilson play. Not just because he is exciting to see him do what he does, but with the added delight of knowing that O'Brien let him go and he has absolutely killed it ever since. And that this is a big reason why O'Brien now sits bitch to TimeCop on their journey down the toilet.
You could argue that Wilson got the push to excel from his forced exit at NCST, but I like to think he was being held back because of O'Brien who didn't understand what he had or how to use it.
Say what you will about E$PN and Mike&Mike, but I was listening this morning during a commercial break in Bill King's program, and both Greeny and Golic basically wanted to make sweet sweet love to our boy Kam. They were gushing about his game. Always great to hear the national media talking big about a Hokie.
I'm elated for Kam; the dude deserves it.
+1 for this post causing the mental image of Frank zooming out of Skipper and landing on the 50 yard line in Lane
And TJ Lange dropped 44 the other night

To his defense, he just won the NFC and sent his team to the Super Bowl on a spectacular play. He was still living in the moment and just happened to let all of his emotion out on camera. No one on this board is able to comprehend the emotions that a player with that much intensity is experiencing litterally minutes after the play.
Yeah no guards on our current team can throw it down like that.
Or to have your first thought after clinching a Super Bowl be "go yell at Crabtree!" Like Beamer always says, you win with class and you lose with class. Sherman clearly doesn't know how to win with class, I can't imagine how stupid he is going to act after they lose the Super Bowl.
Yeah.. the Doom and Gloomers who seemed to take over the boards over there the last couple of years were quite annoying. While I enjoy the content Will and Chris produce over there, I won't be on those archaic message boards. So if anyone on The Lounge starts asking tax questions of ol' Hokie CPA, they're gonna be waiting a long time for an answer! LOL
ive been refreshing for 24 hrs lol
Coaching searches are such a tease. I can't wait to hear the news! Glad to see I'm not the only crazy one refreshing my phone every 10 minutes. Thanks for the post!
Yeah, I knew that and I still stand by what I said.
Love Kam's play yesterday!
And how about that Dick Sherman, huh? What an ASSHOLE! How big a douche do you have to be to scream in Erin Andrews' face like that?
That's bogus. Searels is on the same level of Bostad. And are both proven winners. Boston did it in the BIG and Searels did it in the SEC
#VirginiaTech has their new OL Coach. Fans will be happy with the upgrade. #VT #Hokies— Bill Lawson (@Bill_Lawson_NC) January 19, 2014
The other.
Shai has the best vision, but he will redshirting due to his injuries. But Williams is a beast to in his own right. We have a lot to look forward to
Sherman made a great play but, the complete lack of sportsmanship almost wipes the excellence of that play away.
No turkey leg for him.
Congrats to both..
1) Very true and understandable. But also well paid and could wait for a better offer if they wanted to.
2) Searles is more SEC guy as well though but has South roots. yes, I suspect not just about money
3) I meant that perhaps there was some understanding that he would come in for this transition year with the intention that he would definitely be looking to leave. That it was a premeditated structure/agreement. Not that he would definitely be out after 1 year no matter what. (I realize this is pure conjecture)
How did the buyouts work for Sherman, O'Cain and Newsome? Maybe it's a situation where VT had to "double pay" for their position coaches last year.
Possible Answers:
1) lower pay is better than no pay. They're all currently unemployed.
2) Grimes is more of SEC/Texas guy - so it may not have just been about the money (or the lack of VT matching)
3) I doubt it. what if he wasn't hired by LSU. Would he have been fired?
Welcome! All Hokies are a good addition to the community.
But I admit that I am worried that TKP threads will devolve into

which is how I normally viewed most discussions on the TSL boards. No insult intended with that. Just my personal experience on TSL.
Maybe it's a case of the grass always being greener. Everyone wants to get to one of these big program schools, all of the fans at those big program schools want the head of those coaches. Those coaches want to go to a program with loyalty to their coaches. I think VT is one of the biggest programs with loyalty to coaches.
Honestly, I am a bit surprised at all of these suspected finalists as they all were definitely getting paid more at their previous location.
So that leads me to the following questions:
1) If these are truly candidates then either they are willing to accept lower pay or VT is willing to pay up for them?
2) If VT is willing to pay up for them then why didn't they do that with Grimes to keep him?
3) If 1 and 2 are true, and VT was/is able to pay up for good OL coach then did VT and Grimes have a standing agreement that he would be one and done? As others noted VT kind of backed into his hiring as he "came" with Lefty and was not necessarily searched for.

I hope KC is feeling the love from all of Hokie Nation.
