Not doubting that. My only complaint about him is the lack of situation awareness of when he might need to break his rotation.

I also think we need a lot of help at special teams.

Not a single one of his running backs fumbled this year... I think Shane has had some positives as well.

Totally agree. Seems like most of us here understand that these are 18 year old kids and that this is usually the biggest decisions of their young lives - I wish nothing but the best for the guy and hope he does well at OSU (just not when we play them!).

Ah TSL, we'll miss you and your ten thousand threads about why we should fire Beamer.

That might have been your experience... but there are other Virginia schools that do 12-month football workouts.

I know the high school football following is pretty big in the 757, since there were no 1-A or professional teams in the area until ODU recently. We may not have the money for the big stadiums like Texas does, but while I was in high school we'd routinely sell 12k tickets for our 8k seat stadium for the big cross-town rivalry (Hampton-Phoebus), and it was only that low because the fire marshals turned people away once people were lining the fences around the field 3+ deep.

Never been to any Beach District games, but I know their news coverage and forum representation was always even greater than the Peninsula District.

In there it did say he was already going to flip before Grimes left and felt bad about it. Grimes leaving just made it easier to announce.

Selection bias is a fascinating thing isn't it? What drove me away in general from there was the Pollyanna, "trust the coaches"/"question anything and you're not a true hokie" bullies over there.

The difference over here is that most of the people use facts and logic to support their positions be they "positive" or "negative."

I think for the most part people treat each other with respect regardless of their opinion, and that's the difference.

By all accounts Osu is his dream school. I remember how happy I was the day I got accepted into Virginia tech, my dream school.

No hard feelings, hope the kid enjoys every second of the next four years.

I started in here more regularly about a month ago when it became clear that TSL was getting rid of the vB boards. There was no chance in hell I was going back to those old TSL boards.

So, their loss is your...much bigger loss.

Now we have to keep Gallo and Mitchell because we all know that Smith and Pettit are staying.

As someone who used to visit TSL religiously, its a shame what it has become. Will and Chris do a decent job with things, but the mood over there is horrible. Most posters come across as high school aged doom and gloomers with no perspective. The new vBulletin sucked, but more than anything it was the community that drove me away. I love TKP and the insightful, realistic, mostly positive posters.

Best of luck to him. It's great that he gets to fulfill his lifelong dream. It's too bad he will lose to the Hokies twice in his career, however.

Saw this one coming a mile away. No worries, hopefully he'll have a good career at tOSU, but hopefully he'll also go 0-2 against VT!

Can't really say I'm surprised. When OSU offers you when they're in your back yard AND the OL coach that recruited you leaves the school you committed to you take it. Oh well. Hopefully this is the only one.

We need to get an OL coach ASAP or this might happen to the others.

The Saints have a pretty rabid following nowadays too. Nowhere near the level of Pittsburgh yet, but then again only a select few cities have a whole street dedicated to one professional sports team's memorabilia sales.

oof..that one hurts a little...wish him the best though..if he does get some playing time in the next 2 years I hope our D-line slaps him around a little bit
