Yea, this guy did the same thing last year when we got new coaches. He reported that we had new coaches, then didn't report names until everyone else had.
The guy is just an animal. He destroyed Vernon Davis again yesterday. He is the only one on the Seahawks I root for.

Joe I just wanted to let you know that this website is one of the best if not the best website the I visit on a daily basis. The way the forums and information are formatted on the page are just dead on and the integration of reddit ideals are a very smart way to run a website. I think it's more of indicator of his character in a good way that he didn't go on the visit after his mind was made up. he was quick and to the point not really wasting anyone's time, money, or effort after he visited OSU and made up his mind.

Yeah, I really don't feel bad about this at all. I think Taylor handled it well, and he'll get no grief from me.
We still have 4 OL commits that I think are probably pretty solid.
Given the recent history of Newsome's reign of error as contrast, it's still a bountiful haul we can enjoy.
One thing that I'd love to hear French address: We keep hearing names of OL coaches, the systems that they employ, etc....Is it out of the question that any particular OL coach can teach the technique for any particular system? For instance, is it possible that Bostad could come in and be monstrously good at teaching zone blocking technique, even though that's not the system that he's been involved in most recently? Perhaps it's a question of what they're most comfortable with? I just think we (here at TKP) might be selling some of these prospective coaches short because we try and put them in a box.
He's a kid going to his dream school in the city he grew up in and I don't fault him for that at all. Also remember the guy that was recruiting him left, I definitely wish he would've stayed a VT commit but I can see his perspective.
As far as VT goes it then becomes very important to recruit an OT in 2015 since it seems all the other linemen recruited are interior guys. VT loses Brent Benedict, Shuman, and Gibson at OT after next season so need to add OT depth. VT does have young OTs such as McLaughlin, Wyatt Teller, and Parker Osterloh but that would leave VT really thin on OTs in 2015.
Some 2015 OT targets are Austin Clark, Matthew Burrell, and George Brown Jr (Aaron Brown's lil bro). Hopefully more emerge.
We may not have Grimey any more but we do have the bond between the 4 guys that he recruited for 4-5 years.

Yep, everything here was done in the light of day. I don't see how that reflects poorly on the kid's character. We always knew he loved tOSU. The reason VT got the commitment was because tOSU hadn't offered him and we represented a good alternative. Nothing shady about that.
Yeah, but once he had made a decision, he didn't want to waste anybody's time and money by going on a visit to a school that wasn't going to attend.
True...but I can be critical of him for not following through in his promise to visit. It is an indicator of character in my opinion, "dream school" or not. We all knew he would take the visit, but it would have been nice to be surprised with a high-charcter decision on occasion.
Here's hoping the rest of them stay firm...
I honestly think he's making the wrong decision, but wish him the best of luck.

Its a kid and all you can ask for is for him to be honest, granted we all saw this coming it was nice for him to go out in twitterworld/public and announce it. You can't blame a kid for following a dream he had at a young age.

Well, with Braxton Pfaff, it's still the Fab 5 anyway.....
Our final record that year was 16-17. We went 4-12 in the conference, plus 1-1 in the tournament. Our OOC losses were to #5 Syracuse by 11, Minnesota by 3, K State by 8, and BYU by 2.
8 of our 12 conference losses were by 4 or less or in OT. The "outliers" were a 14 point loss to #8 UNC, a 15 point loss to #7 Duke, a 16 point loss to Miami (only "bad" one of these) and a 12 point loss to NCAAT-bound NC State in our regular season finale. In the tourney, we beat Clemson before losing by 4 to Duke.
I remember the Greenberg years fondly. I remember watching our team over-perform almost annually. Seth always had us competitive, especially in games we had no business winning. Yes, we had some bad losses over the years, and Seth's last year in Blacksburg we suffered many close losses, but I actually enjoyed watching that team play, because I knew there was a chance we'd pull out the win, regardless of the opponent.
This season, I've seen just a handful of games on TV. I haven't found the motivation to make it to any of the games in Cassell even though I live 10 minutes from campus (though part of that was my schedule for the fall.... I advise you to never try to do school more than half-time while working full-time). The 2013-14 Hokies basketball team just isn't a whole lot of fun to watch.
