I love how these reports come out.

Sunday AM: It's going to be Searles!
Sunday PM: No decisions made, no one has been interviewed. Here is a list of other people potentially being considered!
Monday AM: (duplicate threads) It's going to be Searles!
Monday (early) PM: Looks like it's Searles after all.

i wonder if he will be able to pull any OL recruits with him?

Well hot damn. Can't not like to hear something like that. He's going to pick up right where Grimes left off, and actually has a better background than Grimes did coming in.

Very nice!

Will and Chris seem like great guys, but I believe you will be correct sooner or later. It's hard to take the site seriously when they stated they had to switch to vBulletin because of programming issues with the old format and that there was nothing that could be done to change that, yet they're now back to the old format. vBulletin had many advantages for those who adapted (especially wrt smartphone/tablet viewing), but the quality of the posters dimished to nearly unbearable levels and once they reintroduced the old format I was done for good.

welcome to the best fan site ever. Things are amazing here.

welcome

Well there is this.

The Chat is what TheSabre was based upon and currently holds.

vBulletin was a threaded view that allowed you to view an entire conversation without having to click on each and every damn comment. Will & Chris lost a LOT of money on advertising when they switched. People left, and they saw a click decrease by an absurd number because they were used to gaming the system with their archane formatting. So now they're going for the desperate grab to get it back. All this is going to do is drive MORE of their posters away. Stupid.

Definitely not. I don't fault the kid at all. I just find the analogy funny from the schools' side of things. tOSU is the desired one, the one everyone wants to have, so they think they have all the power to change things at any time of their choosing and get their way. In this case, they did, and maybe it will be the best thing for everyone involved.

Wasn't the format of TSL pretty much the same as the Sabre?

By the way you have the best user name and avatar. My favorite Simpsons episode.

Searles would be great, as would Bostad.

With that said, we have seen the worst an OLine can be, so anyone we get will be an improvement over the Newsome disaster we're still recovering from. No matter the hire, I'll be happy with the OLine play in the future, just because it'll be so noticeably better than what we're used to.

I envisioned a scoreboard video, with CFB in a "HokieMan" superhero costume, shooting out of Skipper to rescue Hokiebird being beaten down by old Independent foes, pulling him up and over amongst BE foes, then again out to ACC foes, where they rise over them wearing championship belts! I know, I know, yes, they were hallucinogens in my past, LOL!

For every Seahawk game, whenever they are on defense, the league needs to plant a sign in the middle of the field that reads...

"You, the undersigned understand and assume all risks of running across the middle of this field until your team is back on defense."

In the span of 2 years they went from begging everyone on there to switch to vBulletin to now completely scrapping the concept because they lost too many members the first time around. If they think all these people are going to suddenly flock back, they're out of their minds.

TSL is a case study in how to completely decimate a loyal user base in the span of 2 years. Will Stewart and Chris Coleman will be looking for new work within a year at this rate, and they've only done it to themselves.

Welp, JJ looks pretty silly now. I agree that him being benched probably ignited a lot of his play last night, but you can't tell me he's not our overall best center, great performance or not last night.

Speaking from experience, Georgia fans are awful people. On par with Alabama. He left after their worst season in over a decade (2010, 6-7), and from what I've read they wanted the whole staff to go. I wouldn't judge him by that, but rather his longevity with great programs. On one LSU board I stumbled on while googling they spoke highly of him and said it would be a great hire for us.

Yeah, Vernon Davis probably had nightmares last night. And near the end of the game Crabtree got alligator arms on a pass because he heard Kam's footsteps. I couldn't be happier for Kam, and he is sure making Hokie Nation proud!

French, reading up on SEC guys opinions of Searels it seems that the LSU people loved him and the UGA people hated him. I know that perception can completely spin any which way but is there something that LSU does that UGA did differently that made Searels a better coach at LSU. Just hypothesizing whether his job at VT would be closer to UGA or LSU. (And maybe Georgia fans are just a dumpster fire and they dont know what they are talking about, which is at least partially true since they have been trying to can Richt for about 30 years now it seems like)

Yep, if Teller can become the potential that French sees and McLaughlin takes the next step forward this isnt a big deal. And who knows, maybe the next OL coach (Searels probably) has someone that he has been scouting that he can close in the next 2 weeks. I doubt it but you never know. Wish Taylor all the best.
