She has the power, but doesn't necessarily wants it. Part of the reason they are moving so quickly to find the new AD is so she doesn't have to deal with the football schedule.

And yeah, no way he was staying with the kind of money they were throwing around. If Washington is indeed the top guy on the list then I think that would soften the blow.

If this is the message that JJ wants to send to recruits, that he is not willing to forgive a player and move on and would rather lose just to prove a point, I don't think they are going to want to play for him and he may not get that 3rd year that everyone expects him to get.
Devin had a decent game and so did JVZ, but Smith took too many ludacris threes and not having Marshall or Raines is hurting the rotation down the stretch. Eventually these young guys are going to hit a wall every game and they end up playing not to lose rather than playing to win. Good contributions from Beyer, but he isn't going to do that every game.
If JJ wants to win another ACC contest, he is going to need to let whatever it is going with him and Raines/Wood and just let the kids play.

No, nothing is official or anything, it is just the grumblings of the department. As much as I don't like his attitude, there is no denying he can shoot so I hope he stays, but it seems he just doesn't mesh with the coaches. If he does leave, he is from VA, so I would expect him to stay in the area since his family attends a lot of games.

JJ was actually a guy that all the players loved when he was an assistant. Right now, I don't know who the players dislike more, JJ or KK. Neither of them take the prima donna attitude well from players so I think that is a big part of the reason that Marshall would leave if in fact he does. He does not respond well to the coaching he gets from JJ or Kurt. You can tell Kurt coached at Navy the way he just expects his players to take the heat and not respond negatively.
If SG was fired a year earlier I think Dennis Wolfe* would have actually landed the job instead of taking over for the Women's program. Right now, I think it will be up to new AD to go outside the Hokie connections to find someone to bring life to this program.
*He had actually inquired if they were going to fire Seth and they ended up waiting a year and fired Beth that year.

The answer is simple: VT is doing the best we can with the resources we have. There is a limited amount of money and I'm sure Frank Beamer will continue to have the authority to make staff decisions with that money. As I covered in recent days, it seems to me that VT will have to use a bit of a moneyball approach in that we have to be extremely wise in how we use our resources in order to compete with the giants of CFB. It can certainly be done, especially with a playoff becoming a reality, but that means we need to do a better job of identifying and developing talent, and that applies for both players AND coaches.

That being said, there's absolutely no evidence that a "rolling assistant coach train leaving Blacksburg" is on the verge of happening. I don't know if you're trying to stir the pot in the midst of today's chaos or not, but a dose of reality would benefit many posters on this board right now.
