Yes, this too.
But hey, this time, questions is a good thing. No longer is it "How will we ever make it through the game if Logan rolls an ankle?" but now it's "Which of our many amazing quarterbacks will get the start?" We've got a million running backs, Malleck's back at TE, nice recruits at wide receiver with Moorehead at the helm, and almost everybody returning on the line (we'll find a good replacement for Grimes, IMO). I personally can't wait to see this offense come into their own...

100% agree. We are used to staff stability that is unprecedented in present day college football and I don't see that remaining the case. Perhaps someone like a Lefty will stick around, but given that he has already been a pretty successfully HC at Temple and if he can turn our Offense around I can easily see him getting a head coach gig in the near future. This isn't necessarily a bad thing it just forces the HC to be a better coaching talent scout than Beamer has had to be.
Keep your chin up Hokies. I appreciate the influx of energy he brought from one year. Consider it a "consultant" type experience. Great foundation laid. Also, I'd rather him go after one year if he wasn't "all in" with us. Let's get someone who really breathes Hokie ball, we'll be better off in the long run. Good luck to Grimes.
The goals and philosophy of our offensive line is not going to change regardless of who is coaching the line. Tip of the spear? No, tip of the bazooka!
I'm on my phone so I don't know how to imbed a tweet but AJ Hughes tweeted last night
@AJ_HughesVT: It's now time for the #AdamTaraschkeComeBack stay tuned he's back @A_Taraschke75
During Newsome's stay at Tech, we witnessed several top-rated Virginia OLs (other than Painter) go to UVA or leave the state entirely. There is no question in my mind that those kids (and their parents/coaches) saw through Newsome's bs and took their talent elsewhere.
Key statement "as long as ... is here". The world of football coaching has changed. Long time coaches like CFB are an anomaly. He did not recognize when he needed changes to get over the top or when the situation was backsliding. Get prepared for lots of turnover in the coming years. How long will CSL remain at VT?
sweet baby jesus
New coach, new competition, which isn't a bad thing. In fact, part of what Grimes so good is that everyone had to compete for their spots. I'd expect that to continue.
Oh No! We suck again! :(
This must be what Bitter meant by Chicken Little stuff. Beamer and/or Lefty found Grimes, they can find another solid OL coach. I think Grimes laid a great foundation here for what an OL needs to be and his successor can pick that up and keep it going.
I take solace in the fact that the next hire will be better than Newsome. I know that's a low bar.
It still seemed there were significantly fewer people there than the other holiday break home games
First off I thought the Neck worked for ESPN?
I hope that these are the types of things that the coaches are charing with our team. I agree we aren't where we used to be and we need to earn back the respect we used to have. At the same time does anyone remember what happened when APP State went to Michigan a few years back? Never write a team off before the game clock reachs 00:00 at the end of the 4th quarter. This is why the game is played on the field.
Good. The skins need to replace their entire secondary

# | "...especially with a weak non-conference schedule that includes Navy, Virginia Tech and Cincinnati..." Making a bowl doesn't mean sh**. Half the teams in college football make bowls. So playing in one doesn't make you a quality opponent. VT is a weak opponent for a team like OSU. Hokie fans need to accept a harsh reality and that is that we potentially have some hard times ahead, much harder than 8-4.
I actually spoke with skip about this at one of the alumni meetings. I'd post a picture of his business card, but I'm worried that might be illegal. But he genuinely seems excited about his business
Wow, so sans Tyrod, Newsome was almost single-handedly responsible for our recruiting busts?
Conversely, if we win, it will be because 'VT has really tried to create an SEC-type program.'
Welcome to sports media. They exaggerate everything to get you excited, angry, or whatever else.

Dude you need to chill on the negativity.
Not good for your health ;-)

# | "...especially with a weak non-conference schedule that includes Navy, Virginia Tech and Cincinnati..." I like the thought process, but our already less than average offense has more questions without Logan there. Personally I think we will need a knockout performance to hang in there.

I'm deferring the answring of that question to FrenchWasp60 because I'm kinda new here...
