We have Horse On A Treadmill, UCLA has Bear On A Trampoline.

Bear on a Trampoline

Personally I do not think Jc is that good of a back. It also says something about our running back core when the coaches recruit 5 rbs. Yes Jc may have been highly rated coming out of high school, but not all kids work out. Hes proven he can not take on a blitzing Lb, and is an absolute hazard for our QB. To me that ship has sailed. He will be lucky to get on the field next year with Shai and Marshawn coming in. As for today, I hope Caleb and Wright can produce, other wise its going to be a long day.

Wow that is a lot of guys at RB. I've been saying all year that I love Mangus if only because he's really exciting to watch, don't love JC because I haven't seen the production from him, and think Edmunds could be a great LB but appears to be entrenched at RB. I can't say I know much about Caleb because of lack of exposure to him, and thought Jerome Wright was probably a FB/HB/TE type, but buried down the chart. I'm excited about MMFW.

2014 may very well be the year of the running back, and hopefully the Edmunds/Mangus/Williams trio will pay off.

Excellent work on this and for the entire season. I look forward to these every week. Suggest doing a foe-rensics post-signing day to evaluate the incoming classes.

BFace was still a pretty highly rated 3-star corner on 247 and Rivals

What I don't get is why we don't split him out wide with a WR put a TE on the same side and run a little flare screen to get him into space.

Another thing that might not help JC is size.. no not to to break tackles but to see running lanes. Call me crazy but sometimes you have to be able to see your o-line and their position to block and see the gap. JC gets caught up wayy too much for my liking.

I don't really think of stars the way I think they're presented. I look at the stars as a rating of how in-demand a recruit is. If they have been offered by all the big programs, (Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Texas, USCw, Florida State, etc.) then Rivals/24/7 is pretty much saying, "Hey, the talent evaluators at places that are known for evaluating talent well all want this kid to join their team, so we say they're a 5 star guy". I do think that guys like Mike Farrell know what they're looking at, but I think it only makes sense that a guy with a lot of offers from a handful of big time programs is ranked highly.

On that note, I'd also say that Frank & Co. have done a great job of identifying guys that have room left for development. The 5 star guys are already the biggest, strongest, fastest guys out there, but the VT staff has a habit of finding guys that have another level they haven't realized yet. This is why I like our recruiting, but it's still a bummer when we don't land the top-ranked in-state talent.

They couldn't name their child Crimson Tide.... because there already was someone with that name from the same county.. get this they also have a kid names Alleigh Bama

I'm all for Nessler, I do really like him and Blackledge. But Verne's voice, to me, means that there is a significant sporting event going on and I should shut up and listen. I don't like Danielson all that much.

I wish I could get Herbie, Verne, Rece, and Tessitore in the booth together. But four guys calling a game would be absurd. Glad we are on CBS for this one.

Strong gets a ridiculous amount of support from Louisville, which is also one of the biggest revenue generators in college sports. With their move to the ACC, I can't see Strong really wanting to go anywhere. He's having a lot of success there and should continue that trend.

As for BO'B, the PSU folks up here aren't all that surprised he's going to make the jump, but with the talent he has, he could have done really well in the next few years. I'm hearing Golden and Schiano as potential replacements. No one is all that excited about either one.

They are still sore that they lost the recruiting battle for him.
That seems to be forgotten frequently...that they really wanted him to play for them.

does anyone else see a lot of similarities between the teams? stout defenses, questionable onlines, average skill players on o, and do everything qbs. i dont think their overall talent level is all that greater than ours. i'm not going into this game expecting a win, but if the d comes to play and good logan shows up then i think we can pull it off.

Disqus allows you to do that but it would be a complete overhaul of the commenting application

Haven't been on the site in a while and just saw this post. These updates are beautiful, and I really really love the n functionality. Brilliant stuff, will make my keyplay ux that much more enjoyable.

Seriously. Seems like the guys that are either a) cornerbacks or b) defensive role players in Foster's schemes are the guys who last the longest in the league. Looks like we prepare those guys as well as can be.
