The truth is that we don't have ANY RB's and the coaches are looking for somebody, or anybody, to fill the gaping hole. Maybe Wright can at least be semi-effective...he has the size.

Hello there, Bruin!

One note: It's maroon and orange, not purple. Just had to point that out.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow. Are there any UCLA sites we could browse to give us a better idea of UCLA's team and fanbase?

Hokies! Greetings!

I wanted to pop in and wish you good luck tomorrow!

I have been stopping by this website the past few weeks to read your previews, and I have to say, french60wasp has probably forgotten more about football than I'll ever know! Your previews are incredibly in depth and accurate. Thoroughly entertaining! You truly know your stuff!

As for this defense package with Jack, don't expect to see it all that much tomorrow. It was introduced against Arizona due to a year long struggle in goal line situations. The success, coupled with the numerous injuries at RB, shoved the package into the spotlight. Against ASU, UCLA had 1 healthy scholarship RB not counting Myles Jack. In this game, UCLA primarily played a nickel on D, which takes a LBer off the field. It made sense to make the move of Jack to RB for 1 game.

For a better idea of how UCLA will utilize this formation, look to the USC game. Jack got a few carries, but it was only in goal line or short yardage situations. As good as Jack is at RB, he's even better at LBer, especially in pass coverage, which is especially helpful with a secondary that has had mixed results this year.

Good luck tomorrow Hokies! I can't believe it is our first meeting. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Purple and Blue on the field tomorrow. Here's to a well played, injury free game!

It is the problem with playing a non-pro style offense. The system will work, but eventually the kids will realize that playing in that kind of system hurts their NFL chances and they decide to go elsewhere. The textbook case is the huge drop off in offensive talent at Florida between Tim Tebow's junior and senior season. Urban Meyer saw the writing on the wall and stepped away when Alabama closed the talent gap and then passed the Gators by. Now he is back where he has the advantage of a scheme that other schools have not seen AND the best talent. Eventually, it will hurt him at Ohio State too, but he doesn't have as much competition.

Damn Jack is impressive.....that is what I was hoping to see from Trey Edmunds this year (similar size and body type), but alas we are still looking for a RB

Ah crap thats right. I didn't even consider that one. Well I'd still be ok with "Foe"rensics for the OOC games. Especially with all the B1G games coming up in the next few years

I think the OOC games are possible, but this might have been a one season gig...it'll be hard to do conference teams over and over...

TFF, please make sure to continue these next season. They were all just great. Its gonna suck not having these to look forward to

The two things I love about GT:

1. It will take them forever to admit that he isn't going to make them any better. This treading water will go on at least 4 more years.

2. Once they do finally cut bait their system will be so barren of legitimate players it will take a real coach another 4 years to rebuild.

I truly believe our run game will be better with the number of backs we have next year. They all have ability but the ones that show how much they want it through effort every play will get the carries. We will be pleased.

Well, they're from Alabama...no offense to anyone from that state but education isn't at the top of their list of priorities...In fact, as evidenced by some of the people I've met from there, I'm not sure it's even on the list. It's too bad :(

I will say that I've met one person from Alabama who is actually fairly smart. They're not all poorly educated but there is a stereotype for a reason. It's something that upsets me about this country. We have the resources to be one of the smartest in the world and somehow we fail to do so..it's truly frustrating.

Rant Over.

In the words of Mike Barber: The most shocking development since the sun rose this morning.

Precisely. There's a pretty hilarious video of it somewhere on the internet.

If you don't think that Frank is smart enough to plant a distant Fuller on an opponent we had a miniscule chance of playing during his years at that school in order to sow dissension and fear, I don't know what to tell you.

good work this season tff. this was definitely something i looked forward to every week.
