UCLA will come into this game thinking its an easy win. Bud is going to have a month to game plan which I believe will confuse UCLA for a half. If we are able to make a few big plays on offense, get a turnover, and shut down their passing attack; we should get a lead. Teams have not had much sucess when we are leading this season.
I'm a lot less concerned about the DL than LB. With how well Williams and Baron played in limited action this year, I think we'll be alright there. We may not be as deep and we won't have Manbearpig, but we'll have a DL situation that most teams will envy.

RB needed a few years to catch up with Darren, Ryan, and David leaving early. Its good to see the coache's stocking up at the position.
For starters, SEC last year > ACC this year. Also, Addazio is a MUCH better coach than Chizik. Throw in there that BC has something resembling a defense, and already BC's OC is in a better situation than Loeffler. Plus, BC's system doesn't depend on having a competent QB. Loeffler's does. You can't just go comparing different teams at different times and crying because someone else got different results. Apples and oranges, my friend.

Lets not forget that our defense will be rebuilding or hopefully reloading..the secondary should be better but DL and LB will replace a ton of aged talent.
Look at BC. They have a bad offense. BUT, they have a couple quality O-linemen and an absolute stud at RB who will be spending the weekend in New York. Loeffler doesn't have that luxury
That was what I was replying to. Loeffler had exactly that plus more than what BC had to work with when he was at Auburn. Yet, BC was able to make it to a bowl game, have a decent season, and pull off some upsets...yet Auburn couldn't win a single conference game? It was a historically bad offense and the only time that Auburn was shut out of any conference wins in school history. Sorry for not being optimistic, but that's a bad sign and it's inexcusable as a coach to let that happen with that kind of talent on your team - talent that got them into the BCS national championship game this year and a heisman candidate on offense.

Our DL and LB's are my biggest worry for the game. OSU has the O-line talent even with new starters. I think we will keep it respectable in the shoe but 2015 is when we take them.

I would support adding Navy for the academic/Maryland/Notre Dame reasons as well as to make a 16 team conference, but if we add someone new, I would think it should be someone south of North Carolina because we need a little more south balance in the league.
I do think that four 4-team divisions would be a great scheduling strategy, or if we didn't even do divisions, identify four teams for each team who are rivals but aren't necessarily a division. For example, our four top rivals in the ACC might be UVA, Miami, say, Pitt, and maybe GT. Play these four teams every year, but it wouldn't necessarily mean that they'd each play each other (as you would expect in a divisional structure). That means 4 games you play every year, and you'd get 4 rotating games every year (assuming an 8-game league schedule, which I think should go to 9).
I'd like to let all players who go through a 4 year progression play against every other team in the ACC, and minimize the number of non-Lane stadiums you'd miss.
This is a good idea. We'd have to work out some other operational and scheduling considerations, though.

Also, he will never be the greatest head coach in the history of Alabama. But he could walk into that title day 1 at pretty much any other school.
I don't have any ill will towards Hand and I hope he succeeds spectacularly at Alabama. If he wants to come back to school after NFL, Hokietown would be a great place for him. But while he's young and athletic, might as well take advantage of the opportunity he has in front of him: Get the best training possible to maximize your early career earnings and open up as many doors as possible.
I just hope he gets blocked into oblivion if he's ever up against Wyatt Teller.
