Still bitter that MV7 didnt win it "just cuz he was a freshman." If he didn't win it (along with Adrian Peterson) for that reason then I'm of the opinion that no freshman should ever win it.

I say GOOD. Whether it's the shape, form, or timeframe that people predicted, the ACC has a TOP team and ELITE players competing at the ELITE levels. Nothing better can happen for a program like ours where we can say that we're a powerhouse and we participate in a conference where the nations best come to play. As FSU's success goes, in some ways, so go the Hokies. Now.....let's go pull some upsets over top ranked opponents and maybe something bigger.
If Marshall comes back and is 100% committed he can be a beast. I hope that happens. While I'm putting my wish list together, it'd be great if Kris Harley worked his way out of Wiles' dog house and dominated on Saturday's like he does during spring and summer open practices.
Honestly, I'm disappointed. More with the system and voters than anything else. It's a shame that these types of awards recognize on field performance only, and don't take into consideration player character. From everything I've read, the FSU QB is not the kind of guy if want in my program, off the field. Nonetheless, I'm not sure Johnny football is either. All that matters, in the majority's eye, is winning. Frustrating to watch. All I can say is I'm excited about the Ford kid. Standup on and off the field. The kind of person I can cheer for. Winston? Not so much. I wish FSU and Auburn could both lose.
OT but I think BC is going to be terrible next year without Williams and Rettig. I think that revenge will be served big time when Tech plays them.
The antiSEC in me wants FSU to win it. The Hokie in me wants FSU to never win again.

I'm a man! I'm 40! Well, I'm 41, actually. I got all the references, but then again I have kids who are into all this stuff too. As for Harry Potter, once I saw how enthusiastic my daughter was over it, I checked it out for myself and enjoyed it immensely. I've read each of the 7 books several times over.
I think I'm the only person here over 40. I have no idea what this is about. I actually opening the story thinking this was an obscure coordinator or something. Then I realized what is was and my wife asked me what I was reading. I said "this story about Lord of Rings or something".

Well, full disclosure my parents and my dad's parents went to Auburn. My parents aren't much of football fans, by my grandparents had Auburn season tickets for years. They didn't tell me dumb blond jokes. They told me dumb Alabama fan jokes... Anyways, my view on Saban.
The way he coaches his players (that I've seen) seems very disrespectful. There is a line in coaching where you have to be hard on your guys, but respect them as people and students. It feels like he crosses that line. He is very condescending during his press conferences to the media. Watch any interview during College Gameday. His eyes keep flicking back and forth to the camera. It freaks me out.
Those are all subjective views, based on what I've seen. There is just nothing that makes me like him as a person the way I like Frank. He is a great coach, but I would never want him to be my coach.

I think he's socially awkward and uncomfortable dealing with/understanding fans, and it rubs people the wrong way. I think he sees the media, fame and fanfare as a necessary evil, the part of his job he hates. I liken him to a professor who just wants to do research, and doesn't want to teach class (every engineer has had a couple of these).
I think that would be best case scenario for him. I really could see him switching to the secondary and making an impact as injury depth.
I mean honestly what about Nick Saban makes you not view him as a classy individual. I'm open to having my opinion changed but I havent seen a thing that makes me think that he isnt a stand up guy.
He agreed to the deal after it looked like Brown would not be stepping down last night. I don't know if Nick will or will not be the guy, but I don't think most people, including myself, view Nick as a classy individual. If he turns around and runs. I wouldn't be surprised.
Texas never schedules the best teams in the SEC in football because Brown had convinced Powers and former athletic director DeLoss Dodds the SEC benefited from an unfair playing field. Saban was often Brown's example.
Wonder what he means by "unfair playing field" and also how that specifically relates to Saban. Academics? Surely not culture or money...
