Only if everyone calls Georgia Tech "Ga Tech". IMHO, I don't think it's that people like saying "Va Tech", VT or Hokies is as easy or easier to say, people use it because they hear it on espn. So ultimately I can blame it on disney.

Also, I noted that McKenzie will redshirt. It isn't because I am not impressed with him, but he is very similar to Williams and Edmunds (perhaps a tad bit smaller, and a bit faster.) With those two guys in the mix to go with the other returners, it just makes sense to make sure that McKenzie gets healthy. Assuming we get him, of course.

Agree on all fronts. If the Hokies wanted Trey at linebacker, he would have started there. That is where I wanted him. His film was spectacular at that position, and when he committed the Hokies were dreadfully thin at linebacker. But, to suggest that he is not a running back is absurd. He wasn't used properly for half the season (Trey Edmunds is a bunch of things, but a veer fullback he is not.) When he started to scratch the surface, he proved to be an excellent receiver, by far their best running back in pass protection in years, and a good runner. Now they have invested two years into Trey Edmunds as their next Kevin Jones/Ryan Williams feature back. He isn't moving to linebacker.

Seeing as how Bud rotates so much on the front, I never worry about the number two guys. I feel like they get a lot of experience. May not be starters but get playing time.

Just a thought about "VA Tech". I'm not too fond of it personally, but if recruits like saying it, ESPN likes saying it, and everyone outside of Hokie Nation likes saying it, thats probably because it sounds good. And it's easier to say.

It's like when someone gives you a nickname. You can either get really angry about it or you can embrace it. Let 'em say it, and don't correct them like a pretentious Ohio State fan who interjects with a "The".

Tech players will hear a lot in the next couple weeks about how amazing UCLA is and how they don't stand a chance. I love it. Hope these experts will be eating crow around 6:00 PM 12/31.

Luckily the game is won on the field and not on paper or by what "experts" have to say about them

Yes. Move Mangus to slot receiver. Let Trey and Williams be the 1 - 2 combo at RB next year. JC #3 back, and move Caleb to D. Problems solved.

Tyrod Taylor committed with "The University of Virginia Tech" and we all forgave him. How bout spreading the love. Only one mentioned that really grates at me is VA TECH, coined my ESPN for their convenience and I have convinced myself that they continue to use for spite now. I'll take VPI, it used to be on our BBall jerseys back in the day, and they still wear the throw back gray unis with VPI sometimes.

Very similar to what Sumlin does at Texas A&M when they get a recruit. He tweets #yessir every time they get a commit. Gotta love the energy that he's brought to college station and the renewed atmosphere there. Even though he is a head coach and Moorehead is a position coach, I still see the same type of thing going on here. Love it! Lets go Hokies! Good start to 2015!

this post essentially sums up all of my emotions on this season. I hate with a passion when people say "move trey to lb", this kid, mark my words, is going to be special. My friends can attest i spent most of this season yelling to get trey the ball, and especially towards the end of the season i felt like he was unstoppable. Not to mention he is already great in pass protection and out of the backfield.

Still better, statistically, to throw the ball down the field then run the ball with a RB that isn't a threat to house it.

Which is why the running game is dying in the NFL.

I was at the press conference when Beamer could first talk about the 2012 class. He stated right then that Edmunds would start at RB, and yes it was because of lack of bodies at the position, but on signing day he was an RB for us.

When I approved your account, I hoped you handle was a Simpsons reference. Judging by your Hank Scorpio avatar, it is. Welcome to the community!
