We've got little to no shot with Taylor. St. Chris is a "hoity-toity" private school in Richmond where "normal students" are look down if they go to colleges that are less academically prestigious than UVA.

I don't know if Taylor is a "lifer" (a student who's been going their since kindergarden) or a recruited athlete at St. Chris. If he's a recruited athlete, we probably have a better shot.

From what I have heard Coleman was NEVER 100% this season after the injury. If he comes back healthy he will be able to play more of a role in the offense than just a third down back. He averaged over 4 yards a carry last season as a freshman and he will get stronger during the offseason.

Hmm interesting. Thanks for putting this here. I'm still confused as to why NFL teams don't go for it on 4th down every time past the 50 and do only on sides kicks? Thought those strategies were statistically advantageous, too.

im hoping that since we are getting no good press that we'll come out with a chip on our shoulder and punch them right in the mouth. ucla is good so well have to play lights out in order to win.

Well, we aren't looking to take many. In a perfect world, it's White and Marcus Lewis at CB and Garrett Taylor at Safety and take a flyer on a few "Athletes" who could be DB's, WR's, Whips or ST'ers.

I'm sure they have told Lewis that him and White would be the next pair after Kendall and Facyson. Taylor, who is enamored with Stanford and goes to St. Chris' in Richmond, is going to be a tough pull anyway.

Sure, good bird seed is great, but what constitutes bird seed? I've paid good money for a very average meal. Quality of work environment, being put in a position to succeed, etc. all matter. To see where our assistant pay ranking is and that none of our assistants seem to be chomping at the bit for a dollar proves a lot in showing what Beamer has developed here. Its hard to leave family and it looks like that's what our coaching staff is.

I know the article mainly focuses on returning players. What is your opinion of Adam Smith? My brother is a UNCW grad and raved about him after his freshman season, so I kindly rubbed it in his face when Smith transferred to Tech. Obviously he can shoot lights out at times and seems to be able to create his shot in addition to spotting up. I worry a little about his size as a 2 guard, especially getting into ACC play.

They basically let me know I'm their top priority for defensive back in 2015.

I hope none of the other "top priority for defensive back" recruits reads that.

It just goes to show how much the media looks at stats to determine these "all ACC" picks. It's easy to see why he is on the coaches ballot. I mean its those guys who have to consider a guy like Kyle on a weekly basis. Kyle has got to be the most versatile cb in Tech history!

In no particular order:
-A running game. Hokie football running the ball for 250+ a game.
-A QB that was recruited as a QB. No knock on LT, just want to get back to a QB under Loerfler...
-Filling up ALL the trophy cases and then some.
-A plan for a successor. Just to stop the speculation, and bad uprisings after a Hokie loss. Knowing is half the battle. Worried that we might be losing a few recruits in years to come with kids worried about an old coach (see JoPa...)

Eh, let them pick whoever they want. VT and UCLA will decide it on the field. I didn't see the show, but based on the description above, it really just sounds like the Sun Bowl is so uninteresting to them that they just picked the headline player from each team and picked based on who wins a 1-on-1 matchup between the two. Barr is a great player and I think he will give us a lot of headaches, but I think we stand a chance because our D will give Hundley nightmares. I know we have problems with mobile QBs, but I think our guys will come to play.

4. A qb who I don't curse almost every game (I miss you Tyrod)

Don't be ridiculous and say that you never cursed at the things that Tyrod did early in his career. Just because he had a senior year that we all choose to remember better than the rest doesn't mean that he didn't have his struggles too.
