I'm NOT attempting to defend any use of derogatory terminology, but PC stuff really gets on my nerves. When did the nation of free speech turn into the nation of "don't say that it hurts my feelings"? Words only have power if the person hearing them gives them power. If you let what others say affect you, then you'll never be the best you that you can be. I learned that lesson a long time ago when I was constantly bullied. I decided I had two choices: I could take those words to heart and let them eat at me for the rest of my life (of course you think that as a kid), or I could shrug those attempts to rile me off and realize that they were just words and I was better than that.
Granted, we don't want the forums to be filled with hateful words, but it amuses me how words once "okay" to say become "not okay" to say because someone starts thinking of it as not okay.

My year in Pritchard, some guys threw a couch out the 3rd story study lounge window. Needless to say, we weren't allowed in that lounge for the remainder of the year.

Can we end this stupid shit already? Look, I am gay, but I'm not offended by anything an anonymous internet tough guy says. However, with 2000+ members or whatever it is now, I suspect I'm probably not the only gay person on here, and others may be offended. Hell, there is probably a gay player or two on the team. They read this site too, how do you think it makes them feel to have their own fans talking that way?
So rather than take the chance of offending your fellow Hokies, just don't use certain words. IT'S NOT HARD TO DO. We don't need to analyze the evolution of language, just don't say shit that could be offensive. Side note: Minor is a two-way athlete at Benedictine in basketball and football. I played against him in bball when he was just an 8th-grader and he dropped over 20 on all high-schoolers. I sure hope he pulls a Bryan Randall/Jeff King if he comes to VT.
Looks like the schedule had just been released and he had complained about the 5 teams on our schedule that had a bye the week before playing us.
Better it happen now than signing day. I agree, I think that he likely got ahead of himself. I hope that he realizes that it ends up being like a multiple choice test; your first instinct is usually the correct one.
