I would also think that if he committed early to a 1-AA school that would take him off the radar. Don't be shocked if he gets a bump when the final ratings come out.

Forgot something. Turn them once or twice just as they start to curl and they will stay straighter.

Here's the trick.
I baked them in the oven on a baking sheet, 2 layers of paper towels with the bacon on top.
start at 350 until most of the fat is rendered and they look close to done. Bump up the temp to 375-400 for a few minutes to crisp up.

Pull the baking sheet from the oven and let sit for about 3-4 minutes, the bacon will get stiff enough to pick up and transfer to a clean paper towel.
Repeat as often as necessary.

There are 2 difficulties, too greasy and broken.
This method solves both problems as they can be then served cold without being too greasy on the fingers and tasting too greasy.
Easier to bundle the bacon o the paper towel and carefully insert all at one time. If you try loading them 1x1, it's a pain and they tend to break.

If you are going to a party, you can keep them laid out flat an separated in groups with paper towels. I found a tupperwear container just longer than the strips and put all 3 lb in separate layers in the towels. No broken bacon!

There's also this:

"Hokies can trace their recent rough patch to London's ability to recruit."

This is funny, on so many levels. I'm so glad we have a football savvy fan base on here, and not just a bunch of posters. Not to mention, a bunch of Hokies that live in a real world, not a snow globe.

This is hilarious on sooo many levels.. We had an awful recruiting class this past year due to the kids not being able to qualify. Oh and we did get a whole Coaching makeover. LOL-UVA but hey

But for one week a year, you get to come over here and feel superior. Not because of anything you did, mind you, nothing you accomplished yourself. No, you get to feel superior because *other people* won a football game, and you just happen to put 37 logo magnets on your minivan to justify to yourself you're "part of it."

cant we turn that argument right back around on whoever posted it?

This is why I truly hate UVA. Growing up a Hokie fan I never really understood why we hated the hoos. I knew I was supposed to hate them I just didnt really get it. Once I became old enough to interact with UVA grads in real life I finally got it. This comment isnt a random delusional person, its what the majority of Hoos actually believe. Such a sad superiority complex haha

This has got to be my favorite post from those hilarious message boards:

I love this time of year as well, if for no other reason than to be reminded that all you people have in your lives is Hokie football. Your town is colder, your campus bleak, your academics inferior, your fans trashier, your football alums an embarrassment, your women uglier, and most every other team sport a doormat.

But for one week a year, you get to come over here and feel superior. Not because of anything you did, mind you, nothing you accomplished yourself. No, you get to feel superior because *other people* won a football game, and you just happen to put 37 logo magnets on your minivan to justify to yourself you're "part of it."

We won't always be down in football, but for you sir, unfortunately you'll always be a Hokie.

How delusional can you get?

Yeah my bad, I should've re-worded my first post. My high school was in the same district as his so I know first hand the talent that he's going up against, and it's not like he's going up against Pheobus or Hampton every week. It's not a knock on the kid because he could very well turn out to be a stud, it's just I take guys who sign from my hometown with a grain of salt

Haha went over and took a gander at the Sabre. Seriously if there is a less funny and more butt hurt group of people on the internet I would like to see it. I almost feel sorry for them. Haha just kidding.

I've always thought that someone should make a Weird-Al type song to the tune of Train's "Meet Virginia", but instead "Beat Virginia"...I can't wait to....Beat Virginia. There are a lot more creative minds on here than my own, maybe someone can do it.

I was there in '95 and it was AWESOME. Interesting note on 'The Catch'. Watch the bottom of the formation before the play and Corny White (who Gentry used to say had three lungs) is gassed and tells Holmes to switch positions and run his go route.

BTW- Holmes is still at Tech in the Athletic Dept. If I see him I say- "still a legend"

Aww man, exactly 50% for the year. That puts a lot of pressure on this last week to finish above .500.
