We don't have to always be "rainbows and gumdrops," and you're entitled to your opinion, as is everyone. The whole "fuck Cody Journell" is pretty nasty though, especially since just a couple weeks ago the kid was literally getting death threats after he missed a kick. I am not particularly sad to see him go, but clearly this is a troubled kid. Your point below about needing a swift kick is probably a good one, but honestly he's already getting it. I doubt he will ever get hired for a decent job, even with a degree from VT (and whether or not he's allowed to finish school is also a good question, depending on the severity of what he's done), because no employer is going to accept "violation of team policy" as an excuse. He's screwing up not only his football career, but his life. His price is being paid and he doesn't need more cheap shots from the fans.
Goodbye to him, goodbye to the distraction he presents, but he really does need help and if all the rumors are true (where there's smoke, there's fire) he needs rehab.

I heard Mark Schlabach talk about this at halftime of the Ball St - NIU game last night, and he sounded baffled that this had come out at all. He clearly had no idea what was going on. He gave all the information he could, but it sounded like every statement was a question.

"Seems" to be self centered? we have the facts to support that, no more seeming. Seeming is believing? As far as CJ being a guy that needs help, I've argued that point in another post below.
If it came across that I think no one should wish well for Cody, then I wrote that incorrectly. I was trying to imply that this person is way more forgiving of him than I am.

I am not basing my opinion of Cody Journell on what Frank Beamer says to the M.E.D.I.A. about him. I am looking at facts. Besides, what do you think he'd say? "Im not sure if drugs are more important to him than this team is." He just got kicked off the team so you can bet your bottom dollar that's what he was thinking at some point. and...Because he had friends on the team it means he cared or that he's a quality guy? Hell man, there are 100 guys on that field with him almost daily...surely he made friends...wonder what those friends of his are thinking right now!
lastly, in my mind cody journell is NOT a kid who needs 'help'. Until proven otherwise (BWW mace, breakins, team violations). He's a chump who needs a swift kick in the pants to realize that in life, people count on you. If you want to be part of something bigger than yourself then you have to sacrifice some of the things that are only beneficial to you - and harmful to the people around you. He didn't do that. He hurt the team and this program on more than one occasion. He let people around the team and the people that support the team down. I don't wish him harm. I don't wish bad luck on him. I just want him to go away forever and know that he's never welcome back. Screw Cody Journell.
She was not quite good enough. Distance was the problem IIRC. He told her to get some more practice and come back. I'm sure she's welcome to try again.

With all the recent heated debate on here about Logan, why is it suddenly acceptable to make personal attacks against Cody? He screwed up and he's gone. If he does have a drug problem, I wish him the best and hope he gets the help he needs.

This particular scholarship athlete has been a pain in the ass from the day he first set foot on campus. Count me as one who is glad that his VT career is now over.
