calm down. It's unfortunate and yes I agree that Cody SEEMS to be a pretty self centered individual who has caused us some heartache. but he's just a kid and obviously he needs some help. I don't think there is a problem with wishing for the kid to find his head somewhere along the way.

I won't say that I'm glad he's gone, but I'm certainly not surprised things ended this way

I don't think we need to tear him down. I think we just need to shun him. Don't need to curse him out, just need to go on with our lives as Hokies. There's still games to play, and still football to watch. Life goes on, even without Cody Journell. We don't need him, and we don't need to be mad either. Getting mad just sends the message that we care and that he is still the focus of our energy. That kind of thing would only serve to inflate his ego. It also sends the other players the message that we aren't focusing our energy on them.

So here's what I have to say about VT football:

AJ27 is the man.
Ke. Fuller is the man.
Sam Rodgers is the man.
Joshua Stanford is the truth.
Trey Edmunds is a giant pair of nuts masquerading as a football player.
Skip Hopkins is half man, half bear, half pig. It is science. You should be scared.
Dadi is energy incarnate. He's like one of those glowing energy beings from sci-fi movies.
Kalvin Cline is in many ways a beast. He deserves more discussion than he gets.
Brandon Facyson is an interception machine, and I'm excited for him.
Willie Byrn ain't afraid to hit a man.
LT3 is a guy. He's a great team player, and when he plays the part of team player, good things happen.

Let this be the positive energy that you send into Lane stadium. Let this be what the players think we think about the team. Don't let them think that we think that they are nothing without CJ. They can be everything that they need to be if they choose to rise above the decisions that former team mates have made. I believe in this team. I never stopped believing, even when things looked grim. Just take it one game at a time and root for our players on the field to do the best that they can.

There is a random little BBQ joint on Rt 15 in MD near Mt. Saint Mary's University. I've heard its good, but have never stopped. I have seen quite a few cars parked outside during non-meal times. Good sign?

He wants to go to a school with a sports marketing department and Tech doesn't have one so he crossed us off his list, amazing that Alabama, Michigan and Florida all have sports marketing departments.....

Anyone who is shrugging this off must be punch drunk. This is horrible and disappointing news. It may have significant implications on the remainder of the season - for me, that means if we lose ANY game due to a missed field goal of anything 45 yards or in, I will blame this as the reason. Remember who wasn't playing in the Sugar Bowl in 2011? Remember that game tying (or game winning, cant remember and I WAS THERE) field goal that we missed? Yeah. Thanks for that too, Cody.

Well I say FUCK CODY JOURNELL and I hope the door hits his punk ass on the way out. Clearly he cares about no one but himself and has done more to damage the reputation of VT and its players than anyone I can remember. The only thing we can ever take away from having a shit-head like that on the team is to be wary of types like him and kick their asses off the team before they become an integral part of our success, which whether we admit it or not, he was.

Allstate has banned Sam Rogers from kicking field goals as they cannot afford new nets every kick. Although, the "good hands" motto fits very well with SR.
