The tie breaker after head to head between the 3 teams is overall record of the teams. So a 2 loss Duke team would win that against the Hokies with 3 current losses

If Vt Duke and Gt are all tied at 6-2 then vt goes to te ACCCG because we're all 1-1 in head to head it goes to the divisional record and Vt would only have 1 division loss and duke and gt would have 2 division losses. That's assuming all 3 win out inconference play

I would have to look it up, but in that scenario (Duke, VT, and GT all winning out), all 3 teams would end up with identical conference records.

The next tiebreaker is head to head between the 3 teams, which would go:
VT: W GT L Duke
GT: W Duke L VT
Duke: W VT L GT

So all 1-1. So then it goes to the next tiebreaker. It escapes me at the moment what that is, but VT has no chance at the ACCCG unless Duke drops a game.

A GT win would put them at 6-2 in ACC play, and if Duke and VT both win out they are also at 6-2. The three-way tiebraker goes to the team with the best division record. (VT would be 5-1, Duke and GT at 4-2). We would go.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this how a 3-way tie is sorted out?

How? Is there a special tie-breaker rule I'm not aware of or something?

Fairly sure that is incorrect. If Duke wins out, they go to the ACCCG. Has something to do with the tiebreakers, as Duke/VT/GT would all be 1-1 against each other, so the next set of tiebreakers goes to Duke

I would sure hope not after the whole Duke/BC debacle.

Remember, Duke doesn't EXACTLY control their own destiny. If GT beats Clemson on Thursday night, then suddenly we can get to the ACCCG by beating Maryland and UVA, even if Duke wins out.

After Miami, I am feeling like a plundering viking. I want us to beat the terps by 21 or better, roll into UVA and gang stop the piss out of them. Shut out city. Also, I would like some meat and cheese to go with my ale.

He's inconsistent. I don't trust him. I am proud of his play against Miami, he looked like the guy we've all been waiting to see all this season. But his inconsistency and decision making is still very troubling when he is under a lot of pressure

Just a comment on the darn bubble screen (that's what you typed, right?), we've gotten quite a few very nice gains off of that play. Case in point: Byrn going for 11 off of a BEAUTIFUL block by DJ Coles this past Saturday. When you get good blocking from other WRs, a well-placed ball, and a receiver who can get upfield, the bubble screen can extremely effective.

Every #1 Seed is from the ACC. Legit.

And we play at home Friday. Might hit that after my test if the time is right :D

Live, I thought we were gonna get pushed back 10 right there. The thing that I think keeps the flag in the ref's pocket is (assuming he was looking there) DJ's left hand coming off as the guy starts turning. Up to that point, it definitely looks like Coles is pushing him downfield/to the side (whether or not that's reality is debatable). Had DJ kept his hands on him and the ref had seen the defender trying to pull away, that would've been an easy holding call. Good job by DJ.

I just got a couple of the auto-play ads. They're being activated above the Active Discussions column on the right hand side. One was for Chevy, and another was some sort of alkaseltzer or something.

That's the ugliest turtle I've seen in a long time.

From Andy Bitter:

-- Three Hokies earned ACC Player of the Week honors. Thomas was the Offensive Back of the Week after accounting for 408 yards of offense against Miami.

Center David Wang was the Offensive Lineman of the Week after grading out at 86 percent and recording a career-high 16 knockdowns.

Josh Stanford was the Receiver of the Week after catching seven passes for 107 yards, including 32-yard touchdown. That's 13 catches for 278 yards in the last two weeks for the redshirt freshman. He had 20 catches for 268 the first eight games.

VERY. As in, I think it was probably a hold. But I'm no football rules expert. So maybe others can weigh in.

I mainly felt compelled to give you my take because I'm quick to blame the refs and wonder 'what if' when I feel they've missed a call that went against us - especially for points as that one did. So this is my attempt at avoiding hypocrisy. You do have to wonder though... what if they hadn't called that motion penalty against Coles in the Duke game that took 7 off the board? Would we have won? And would we have won if that touchdown came off the board against Miami for a hold? I mean, we obviously won by more than 7, but you never know how things would change the whole trajectory of a game.

But anyway, it's all a part of the game (ref mistakes), so you just have to find a way to win regardless of what happens...

I agree with this post. I just want to see what Leal can do. A decent amount of comments are that LT3 gives us the best chance at winning, but I don't know how true that is because I've never seen Leal take a meaningful snap. I get that it's tough to yank LT3 and all, especially since the losses were close and that any minute LT3 can do something special, but I just wanted to see what Leal could do. Maybe he is super accurate, anticipates open receivers well, and can read the DE/OLB on a read option. Maybe he can't do any of that - I would have liked to have seen though.

I don't hate LT3. He's got a ton of great characteristics, physically and mentally. I'm happy for him and the team that he balled out on MIA. He can just be so awful at times and if that happens again, I want to see what Leal can do. We're not going to Pasadena, so what's the harm in throwing him in for a series or two in the second quarter?

Possible matchup with Rutgers or WVU in round 2. KILL THEM.
