You know what? We're an engineering school, so this problem needs an engineering solution. We need to find a way to distribute tickets without distributing physical tickets, we need to track attendance for preferred ticketing, and exer some level of control over where people sit while giving them the freedom to float within their section. Get the IEs!

Why VT? Well I was just in Boston for work. I flew a total of 11 hours to talk for 2 hours. I slept approximately 8 hrs in a 48 hr period. I stayed at a hotel between MIT and Harvard. I sat on the plane beside a girl that was going to Harvard Business School after graduating from MIT a few years ago. The Red Sox won. AT HOME. So besides being tired, behind at work and feeling pretty much like a dummy from everyone I met, I kicked ass at my work gig. Oh, and I am a Hokie. The worst thing for BC, besides no Spaz and the Red Sox winning the North American Series is that VT was lackluster on offense and lost last week. I imagine Frank won't quite take the handcuffs off the O, but he may give it a few cigarettes. I will be watching BC at a bar at 9am b/c why not. #goacc

Well I almost always go with the chic picks and I am sticking with it here. Also, Miami at #7 is more laughable that Oklahoma St at #10. I am old so I am very familiar with wide right. These games were usually the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving if I remember correctly. This was a great game before #goacc. Now it will just be an ask kicking.
I only had wine to drink tonight and I don't think anyone is interested in the tasting notes of the Ammarone I drank.

You could close it off though. So basically, students could try to go get in NEZ, but the yellow shirt people would be like "it's full". Or you could hand people a different colored paper wristband for their section. This way each person has something to prove which section they're supposed to be in, and they can't make easy replicas of it prior to the game (especially if you changed the wristband colors each week). It wouldn't have to take very long. You'd just hand it to the person after they swipe their card.

They look good but I refuse to buy a front wheel drive vehicle and avoid driving them when possible. Also, my 16 year old Ford product, a Town Car a.k.a the pimpmobile (sarcasta font as she has stock parts), is still going strong.
All of the stadium sections at PSU have separate entrances and are divided within the stadium. You can only go in the gate for your section, and can't get from one section of stands to the others within the stadium, I don't think. I waited in the wrong line the first time I went to a game up here and it ended up taking a long time to get to my seat.
I just saw an Oregon State commercial with a horse on a treadmill.
Unless you had to scan to get into each section, that would never work. No way students hear "north end zone & east student sections are full so you'll be at the top of the south end zone" and just hoof it up there.
They should just let students swipe in with their hokie passport, and then let them into the student sections only, and make those seats first come first serve. That would get people in the stadium early, and eliminate the paper ticket debate. As for people who lost their card, maybe there could also be a piece of paper that you could print alternatively, in place of a card. But essentially, this wouldn't have anyone saying "I don't have a ticket" or "I have a ticket, so I'll show up halfway through the first quarter"....you'd just have people being like "I need to get in the stadium, and I need to get there quick to get good seats." The device students swiped into could keep count of how many students have entered. This would allow for you to control how many people are in which section (eliminating the empty south end zone problem), and you could just send people to the sections. All the people at the gates would know "Ok, X number of students have entered, all subsequent students should go to SEZ" or whatever, until it was full.

Yeah, I didn't get to Blacksburg until 2007 and the effect shirts were the first Hokie items I owned I'm pretty sure.
That was the 2007 Maroon effect shirt and it was my favorite effect shirt. All the ones since have been kind of lame, but I still get them because they make for great work shirts and you can never have enough Hokie gear.
As an Auburn fan (and Tech alum), I am offended.
