Our football games this year are almost as easy to predict (First one to score 14 is probably going to be the winner, Logan will truck someone, the D will play lights out) as last years basketball games (First to score 50 was more times than not the winner, EG scores 20, Eddie turns the ball over 4 times, JVZ has one dunk then is silent).

Thanks for clearing that up. I've never picked up the effect shirts, I really can't even remember if they did them before I left in 2004. The most I've ever done is get an orange thermal to wear under my maroon jersey if it's an orange effect game in cold weather.
That's because Sam Rogers already took out the Prussians, GW and co. are just getting there in time for the victory party.
There is just too much awesome on this page.
*Sidenote: TOTS was freaking ridiculous last night. Line went all the way back to Squires. Pretty sure some people never got in last night.
The effect games rotate every year so the short sleeve is early in the year and the long sleeve is later. This year was Maroon short sleeve and Orange long sleeve, so next year will be Orange short sleeve and Maroon long sleeve.
Personally, I will always wear the effect t shirt to the game, but I don't have any cold weather gear that is orange, so if the Orange effect is the later game in the year like this year, I wear my maroon jacket over my orange shirt. I wear bright orange shoes with maroon laces so I have both colors on game day anyway.
What does them not having won a FCS title or going to a bowl game have to do with anything? The program is only 4 years old and went 9-2, 8-3, 10-3 and then 11-2 in their first four seasons with playoff trips in the last two years. This years team was ineligible for anything and will probably be an immediate contender in Conference USA next year. I would say they are similar to ECU, just a little behind on defense. I'd say right now, ODU would probably beat UVA, so I'd say it is fair to say with their potential and UVAs decline(or steady trend of not doing anything) that ODU will be a better program in the near future. Who knows, if UVA does leave the ACC, ODU would probably be a great replacement.
Oh, have some self respect.
I believe Auburn is an Under Armour school, so Nike is probably pretty comfortable in that middle finger stance.
I spent several minutes trying to figure out if Sam Rogers is in that picture. Pretty sure he's not. Sadz.
As long as it isn't the foghorn helmets from last year.
If Kyle Fuller is back to 100%, because clearly our offense is shit without him
I actually feel more comfortable when the defense is on the field than the offense. There is a sense of calm that they all know what they are doing and are going to be in the right place almost 100% of the time. And due to field position, I feel more confident in the D getting points on the board than the offense, so that comment was just gold.
I would rage eat my shirt.
Watch it happen.
They did the whole tickets on a card thing in '08 and there was a huge backlash. No one liked it because if you lost your card, you had to go through a lot of crap to get into the games. Paper tickets are nice since you can do whatever you want with them. Can't go to the game? Sell it or give it to a friend. If they were loaded on to the Hokie Passport you would have a harder time doing that. Not to mention the empty seats.
I know if they did that I would have been pissed. I was given or bought tickets for friends and family a lot and if they were on the cards it would have been a lot more expensive(re:not feasible) for us.
In scanning through, I saw 'bad coach' , 'Lane Kiffin', and 'no class' ... my mind immediately translated that to 'Lane Kiffin will be the next coach at UVA. lol.'
A LOT of Leal people on there commenting. I have been one of Logan's biggest critics. And people didn't like that I said we should give Leal a chance in Spring ball (I stand by that). But Logan is clearly the better quarterback. I wanted the competition because I thought it would help, but that doesn't mean that Leal is clearly better. He's not even close.
Hokie stone instead of elephant ear...
I absolutely hate Bama but these shoes are amazing. I would definitely buy a Tech version of these
One of the few positive memories from Chic-fil-a '06 was waiting to board the MARTA with "let's go...Hokies" rocking, then it started to die out & a MARTA employee tried to yell some instructions above the crowd. There was a piss drunk guy standing next to her with a pained look on his face as he tried to comprehend what she was saying. After she finished, he continued to stare at her looking very confused for a second before, inches away from her ear, he yells at the top of his lungs "LET'S GO" and the place erupted again. He gave her a contemptuous look as if to say these are the only 3 words that should be said tonight.
I realize UVA has been lousy more often than not lately, but it's not like ODU has been to a bowl game or even won a FCS title (yeah even London pulled that off). ODU only has 5 FBS schools on the schedule this year and they are 0-3 against them so far. Personally I still think UVA has more potential than ODU for the next decade, especially if the CFB landscape continues to change and we start to look at super conferences.
So sure, we can all acknowledge the potential, but how does that even affect our long term planning? As others have pointed out, it could give us extra exposure to the 757, but could also make us appear to be comparable programs if we suffer a loss to them. Truth is we don't really know what effects ODU will have on our program (much less who our head coach or AD will be in 10 years). It seems silly to worry about at this junction.
