This is a great idea..ODU might become more of a threat to the Hokies then LOLUVA has recently. Also, with the high tempo spread offense that ODU plays; it could actually help prepare the defense to face Acc teams that have a similar style on offense. This will be big for recruiting obviously and will give the Hokies more exposure to the 757!

There was an interview with his HS coach, and the kid has a phenomenal football IQ. Coach sounded as if he'd let him call plays. I would not be surprised if he knows the playbook front and back by second week of spring practice. And I believe he's running Loefflers offense now in HS.

Yep, the more I think about it, the more I like it. Can you imagine the legitimate story we can tell the highly touted recruits?

1. Be a member of a prominent national team.
2. Your coaches are legendary.
3. Come home to play a couple of times over your college career, in front of your friends and family.

Eat that, Time Cop!

On one hand, one would think it would be nice from a recruiting standpoint to have multiple games in Hampton Roads over a set number of years.

However, if ODU were to beat us once or twice (chances are they may), not sure it would be good for the perception of the program.

Not yet but I'll be there when it opens... sounds like they're targeting the end of November.

This is also a great video with interviews with Homer and Butch if you have 14minutes to spare:

Michael Vick redshirted but he still traveled and dress with the team as if he wasnt redshirted, you can still dress and travel despite being redshirted. And honestly it would be better for him to redshirt. We had to deal with the growing pains of Tyrod's first cuz because he wasnt. Quarterbacks perform better when they get redshirted

If Ford beats Leal in the spring and summer camps, go with him. As much as I feel bad for Leal, play the better QB.

I'm so confused. If his father is a West Indian and thus from the Carribean, why is his father's last name Singh and a non-practicing Hindu?

Maybe the author didn't mean West, but East, or simply Indian.

Pretty cool story; very sad that Syracuse had to hide the fact that Sidat-Singh was a black male. It's crazy to think my grandparents lived at a time when blacks were still thought of as "inferior" by a majority of the country.

"No doubt Malzahn has the mind of an offensive genius, but he must have (and have had) some talent to work with. My opinion, folks, is this year we have absolutely none on offense."

I don't know that you can make such definite statements. Perception suggests that if the offense isn't working then it is deemed talentless, but if we can get things to start clicking then suddenly we have playmakers. The gap I assure you is not as wide as some people imagine. Just consider both 2nd year SEC teams Texas A&M and Missouri; would you say that their recruiting compares to powerhouse SEC programs? Yet they have both found success almost immediately.

There was a QB by the name of Dominique Davis who once played for BC and was very unimpressive. After leaving to attend a community college he ended up at ECU running the former Texas Tech offense. Long story short he now plays for the Atlanta Falcons.

Ultimately the system is critical unless you are really ridiculously talented. Only a single hand full of schools fit that profile and they have had to win championships to recruit that way so I wouldn't consider that a sound strategy.

If you haven't already, take a look at his Twitter feed. Lots of Logan Thomas love on there

One thing that I think goes into KJ going East-West is that I think that we intentionally leave one man unblocked on the punting team. It is KJ's responsibility to make him miss, then get up field (which I don't think he is really doing well enough), but I think this is why he goes E-W and then tries to find a wall of blockers that is supposed to be set up.

On kickoffs, it is obvious that every team that we play kicks it to Knowles, and it must be for a reason. He hasn't been that productive, and I agree that I would love to see a Mangus-Coleman combo back there, or at the very least, switch the sides of Demitri and JC every now and then so that they don't just walk out there and kick it to their left side every time.

Behind Leal :)

Well, I would say a vast majority have been man blocking (down blocks and pulling a guard) over the past couple of games. It has been blocked effectively for the most part by the line. Skill position players are continuing to struggle. With the zone blocking, they were very effective against Duke, so I am not entirely sure why they shy away from it. The stretch play, inside zone, and weak zone were Loeffler's three best plays at Auburn.
