All Glennon bashing aside, him and LT are somewhat similar in that they both are/were frustratingly inconsistent. Had Glennon had LT3's running ability or LT3 had Glennon's team's talent, they both could have been thought of differently.

it does, can argue, but it's not. they have a lot of breweries, but bar wise ... not close.

True, I haven't generated many turkey legs but I do read each post with great interest, looking for something positive to feel good about the team, and with the excellent analyses, I'm learning a lot about the game. The excoriation generated by my post is why I haven't posted very often. I've seen what you guys do with comments you don't like. But, hey! I think I've earned the right to say whatever the cat hair I want to about them. I was a student at Tech in the early 60's when the Beamer himself was playing, and I graduated a year ahead of him. I suffered along with the rest of the Hokie Nation for many years and then while Frank got the team's act together. We went to the NC in New Orleans for the '99 championship against the Seminoles. I have season tickets. Can't make every game, but I do get to Hokieville 2-3 times a year. The other games I faithfully watch on TV or the BS ESPN3. I've been to several gator holes and Charlotte ACCCs when Tech is playing. We seem to have a penchant for losing to teams that we should blow out. Those losses hurt like heck, and I catch a whole lot of flack from my buddies from other schools. Unexplainable, unbelievable. It's like they can't stand prosperity, and they choke, like a golfer missing a gimmee putt and losing a tournament by one stroke. Say what you want to fellas, call me a troll and down vote all you want, but I'm a die hard Hokie fan. That, my friends, will never change. I just hope we can soon place a NC trophy in that empty case!

I keep yelling at my TV during punts, "Just go north-south!". I'm much happier with a 6-7 yard return that ends in a tackle than a three yard return that covers 28 yards of side-to-side, run-around and find out you have no blocking punt returns. And sometimes, if you hit that apparent 6-7 yard return hard and fast, a hole breaks open and you get a long one.

I would say that it has to do with not growing up in a time where everyone is so sensitive about every little word.
Not going to embed because NSFW, but Louis C.K. I think best describes what he was trying to get at (if not, feel free to elaborate Chachi). http://youtu.be/1IFloXOuLgA
Obviously people need to self moderate and be careful with what they post, but I doubt he was attacking a sexual orientation, just poking fun at their douchery. If he was saying everyone/everything associated with UVA is gay, then yes, lambaste away.

A semi-off topic, but barbecue related question for the TKP community.....Is there any retail-available vinegar sauce that is at least marginally acceptable for emergency use? Haven't found one, didn't know if anyone had a go-to for those times when you just need a bbq fix...or an IV bbq sauce infusion.

I'm sure we could make that happen. We already have the 3-D CAVE environment (which was upgraded not too long ago). All you'd really have to do would be to figure out how to hook up some sensors to LT3 to act as his own controller and pretty much let a video game play out.

Usually they just give out XL shirts I believe. That's what the touchdown shirts that the cheerleaders throw are. All they need to do is get sponsorships. I'm sure they could fund 66,000 shirts from sponsors if they had 3-5 on the back of the shirt because, let's be honest, nobody will wear it again after that game. Just get an orange/maroon/white shirt and keep it simple.

Maybe that is exactly what they need. Even another fullback or linebacker if you don't want to risk Trey. Until Knowles makes a big play, I just don't see teams kicking it at any besides him, so getting him an extra blocker would definitely help.

Is anyone else picturing a simulator to train QB instincts? You could train both run options and pass options.

Kinda like the police style "shoot the bad guys but not the hostages" simulator?

We are Virginia Tech...how about a VR sim?

Does Asheville count as East Coast?

I would submit Asheville as the best place to go for beer bars on the east coast

Just to be clear, the "stupid" to which I was referring are the majority of the commentors on Bitters blog... yeesh. And thanks, but to be honest, there are very few people in the world who fully understand the game. The nice part about not wearing much protection is that we have to actually be smart about the way we take/deliver hits, so serious injuries are still relatively infrequent.

Yes, the offense may play boring, but even a "boring" offense, if executed properly by talented players, can deliver a very exciting product. Just see what teams like Stanford and Alabama have been able to do.

I think undergrads, who generally live in dorms next to the stadium, would be game. They can't go to bars and are unlikely to have a lot of graduated friends back in town.

Ill never forget that cold rainy night. I remember when Royal scored, the place went ballistic. Then we had our hearts ripped out by he that can never be forgiven. I remember waking up the next morning, seeing the rain and deciding that class would just have to go on without me. I hate Boston College.
