So where was Frank Beamer at this point in his tenure at Tech? After four full seasons Frank Beamer was 17-26, and in his sixth season he went 2-8-1.
While that argument could be a fair argument, I think you have to look a little deeper. When Frank Beamer came to Virginia Tech, he had nothing. No talent. Mike London has talent. He came into a unsuccessful program, but recruited very rich talent and has still under performed. To prove my point, here are the average star values for each coach's first full recruiting class:
I even made a bar graph that breaks it down for UVA fans.
So yeah, that argument pisses me off. I even had a UVA fan tell me that Mike London did better in his second season than Frank did, therefore Mike London was a better coach.
