I wasn't able to read the entire article due to its shyt content..how are those 3, 4, & 5 star guys shining this season at 2 - 4. Lol TSL had a great 3 part series this week on the lack of top talent on offense coming from the state of Virginia the last 3 years. I'll summarize it for you..there hasn't been any. The main points are reflected on offense for both LOLUVA and The Hokies. Anywho, Jay needs to either start drinking or stop..

Love how all of their excuses ( young players, three new coordinators) are things the Hokies have too. Don't see us pointing to that as weakness, shrug our shoulders and say "welp, we can't compete," we just go out there and do work and get 6 straight wins after playing the best team in the nation closer than the experts thought.

He seems surprised that people are ready to "punt" Mike London after 3 1/2 years. Doesn't LOLUVA always go 3-and-out?

Jay lost me after, "I find myself having some great workouts lately on the treadmill as I analyze the Virginia Football situation."

Sorry, Jay, but that was a big pile of
dog poo

...The rest of the picks.

Well the Louisville game turned out just like we all suspected. #goacc, I guess.

Florida
Apparently FLA has found an offense but losing their starting QB. Mizzou had a big win and a major loss all at once. I don't see the magic lasting through this week. Even with the game being way up north in carpetbagger land.

Stanford
If you haven't been watching Pac-12 football this year, you are missing out. Unfortunately I have DirecTV and no PAC-12 Network but I won't have a problem watching this game. I think UCLA is pretty good but Stanford is better and has a better coach so I am going w/ the smart kids.

aTm
Johnny Football. Maybe he can play defense too.

UDub
An ex Huskie O lineman owns a bar a couple blocks from me. I frequent it quite a bit. I do have some purple and gold shaded glasses when picking them. They have to be one the best 2 loss teams in the country. PAC12>SEC? I say yes.

Clemson
I have gone back and forth and the only logic I can come up with is a home dog on Saturday night. I imagine if Jameis Winston throws 12 interceptions, is sacked 48 times and FSU wins 3-2, FSU fans will scream he should be the Heisman winner. Winston has looked great but this is a big game and Boyd has been here before. Also I really, really, really hate Florida St.

These picks are brought by Hilliard's Blonde. Its a local beer and it only comes in tall boy cans, 1pt to be exact. My wife is away on a girls weekend trip so I expect to have around 50 or so.

Go Hokies!

Just updated to switch aTm to Auburn....though I did have UCF correctly from before the kick.

UCF
Florida
Stanford
Auburn
Washington
Florida State

From the linked article -

"Dorsett has a tear in his medial collateral ligament -- a problem that may keep him out for six weeks but isn't as devastating as Miami originally feared."

Looks like he'll miss our game for sure.

And I was just beginning to adapt to the Nooner time slot. Thanks a lot, ACC.....

(JK we've had about a kajillion nooners over the last 4-5 years)

Reading through all the comments, I don't think this was mentioned but if it was then I missed it...

But this thread reminds me a little bit of the #BEATBAMA mentality, in that (like Joe said) it wasn't really about actually beating Alabama on the scoreboard. It was about going out on the same field and playing tough, big boy #LunchPailDefense football and not backing down or being scared but standing there toe-to-toe with the best dynasty in a decade and giving them one helluva football game, win or lose.

I apply the same mentality to this (kinda unrealistic but fun to think about) scenario. A couple years ago we ended up at #5 in the BCS the week before the ACC championship (when Clemson steamrolled us) and if a couple other games had broken the right we were right there again despite all the pundits bad-mouthing us.

But FIRST AND FOREMOST we have to win the next game in front of us, and that's Duke. Let all the other BCS chaos fly all around us but our boys need to stay focused on the game in front them and we can enjoy all the other extraneous nonsense that happens each Saturday in college football. Win Today.

(and just for fun, 2007 wasn't all that long ago either when we made it to #3 by the start of bowl season hahaha)

There are very few P-38's left that are airworthy, unfortunately. There are many more P-51's, mainly due to larger production numbers. Seeing one at an airshow is a fantastic thing if you ever have the opportunity. Small, fast and with a distinctive whine, they are perhaps the most beautiful aircraft ever built, imho. I have a wav file of a P-51 that plays when I turn on my computer at home....my wife hates it but it is a sweet sound. (As a side note, my computer in my office plays a short clip of the VT fight song when it's turned on...just to annoy any nearby hoos.)

Dude looks to be a man among boys.....I hope his pass catching skills and blitz pick up are as good as what I see in the run game!

If you click on the link to all the coaches/players drawings, look at Ben Emelogu. Not his drawing...him. That dude is jacked. Can't wait to see him on the court.

Just chiming in*
Michigan State isn't really the same to Michigan as LOLUVA is to the Hokies. Michigan State has actually beaten Michigan somewhat consistently in the past few years, and the recruiting is on the rise.

No it isn't, the key words were " one of" in that quote. Favorite had nothing to do with it. Also, the noun series is singular in this case because he's just talking about this series by saying " one of my favorite series." Sorry if I wasn't clear.
