there is not a single player on offense who has a chance to score a TD anytime that ball gets in his hands

instead, they have to have methodical drives averaging 12 plays or more. It's hard to be perfect for 12 plays, thus the inefficiency on offense.

Great explanation.

Also, I'm not sure if we're remembering the same thing, but I recall our running game being extremely inconsistent when it was the Imoh/Humes/Hamilton show, aside from certain games where certain Lil' Imohs set the single game rushing record. Which is why it was the Imoh/Humes/Hamilton show, none of them were really dominant, they did enough to get the job done and normally not a whole lot more.

That's how I remember it.

Both hits were nice but the hit that stands out for me is from way back when BEN TAYLOR was scaring people off the field. Virginia Tech was playing the Temple Owls on the old Veteran's Stadium and Tech was on defense. The Owls ran a crossing route and Ben Taylor come up and de-cleated the wide receiver. It wasn't two plays later the owls ran the same route and Taylor again de-cleated the same WR. This time the WR got up looked at the QB and staggered off the field not to be seen again due to the fear of Taylor. His two hits will be my measuring stick for Hokie Highlight hits.

I will take more sacks, but I just hoped that all that pressure would force a bad decision. I guess the bad decision Savage made was to hold onto the ball and continue to get whipped by Dadi.

Savage never got the chance to throw at a receiver, we sacked him practically every time he dropped back. Damn it Dadi... /sarcastica/

Phoebus' Elan Lewis is the RB you're thinking about - 5'8", 210 pounds. He suffered a knee injury in a post-season high school All-Star game from which he never full recovered, and he struggled with weight issues. He was supposed to have transferred to Delaware State but I lost track of him.

I don't think it will hurt on-field chemistry too much if Exum splits time with Facyson, but if they do this, I can't see Facyson continuing to put up the numbers/stats to be a true All-American (no where near counting him out for being on the All-American Freshmen team)

Regarding Facyson and his interceptions, was anybody else disappointed that we didn't have any INTs against Pitt? Street and Boyd are great receivers, but I was really hoping we would pull one in.

I know we're all incredibly biased towards the Hokies here, but I'm trying to look past that and I'm still beyond surprised no one else from our D made the list.

While I have no idea of what his (or any other recruits) decision process is/was I do have to wonder about his.
He likely has the skills to play professionally and if I were in that position I'd head to the school that would give me the best chance to learn the position and get national exposure.
Compare where he could be after 3yrs @DBU vs #LOLUVA. 1-2nd round vs ???
Why he would want to get caught up in the drama at #LOLUVA is beyond me.

Brown at least showed some interest in us during recruitment, as we were in his Top 3. I would possibly take a look at Brown, but I agree Blanding is not going to happen no matter what goes on in C-Ville

With us being 1/2 way through the year, how will Exum's return affect us on Defense? The kids out there are playing EXTREMELY well together- Does the addition of Exum mess up their swagger?

I personally don't think it's delusional that London is staying regardless of the rest of the season. UVA just brought in all those new coaches on 2 year contracts and London's buyout is still very high because of the contract extension he was given a couple years ago. Yeah they aren't bowling again and won't finish with more than 4 wins (and I realize that's probably optimistic) again either, but he's still somehow put together UVA's best recruiting class yet. They really have nothing to lose by giving him another year other than another embarrassing season, which they have gotten quite accustomed to at this point, and possibly gain two national top 10 players, finish out the contracts of the assistant coaches, and significantly reduce the buyout on London's deal.

I don't know. I bet he's got the foot-beat on absolute lockdown between The Pretzel Twister and Finish Line at Richmond Square Mall.

Its not what is being said or sold to the kids its what being sold to the people in these kids inner circles.....

I said something to this effect about Andrew Brown if he was to decommit on another board and got downvoted, but I wholeheartedly agree with you

I wouldn't say they are picking a school for the "wrong reason", but they certainly arn't picking a school because they want to win. There are a lot of reasons why kids pick certain schools, and like it or not UVA is a pretty damn good place to have a degree from.

The wild cat was the preface to the read option. It was incredibly effective for a few yrs because it involves TWO good runners going in two different directions. So while the play may appear obvious, its still really hard to stop. With the exception of a few pass plays here and there this is pretty much what GT's offense is based around. The only reason why u see it much less now is because teams just employed more mobile qbs who can run it as a read option full time.
