Substation II is good. Definitely was my go-to spot for lunch - or Mike's.
1. Pork
2. Vinegar
3. Pie
4. Craft beer (bourbon if tailgating)
5. West End (I lived in Cochrane and never got sick of it)
6. Bojangles
7. The Cellar
over confident?
and substation II
that was a staple of mine in college..mostly because it wasn't a very long walk from my primary home (randolph)
I thought he was going to take it to the house if he held on to it.
1) brisket
2) mustard
3) pie
4) bourbon
5) ho grill 4 lyfeeeeee
6) breakfast
for off-campus food, my grandma's house is #1 (she lives in McCoy). tough decision for places in downtown blacksburg...i'd probably go with souvlaki, the cellar, or mikes (in that order).
Yes, this is true. Plus with how Bud Foster has been dialing up different players to play whip or special assignments, Exum adds a bit of flexibility to defensive schemes.
Facyson almost had one when he jumped a route.
Jack Tyler, Kyle Fuller, D. Hopkins, J.R. Collins, J. Gayle, and Kysheon Jarret will also be on someone's All American list when it's all said and done. They may not be on the same one (i.e. ESPN) or on the same All America team (1, 2, 3rd) but these guys are NFL bound.
Does that mean you wouldn't accept any transfers either? And I don't think you can judge an 18 year old from a far and say he is picking a school for the wrong reason, if thats where he feels comfortable with that staff then fine, but if he has a come to Jesus moment and sees the light why not accept him? If he is fully committed to Tech and being the best he can be then we should accept him with open arms.
Hasn't been mentioned because the hit looked a lot more painful than it really was. It didn't jar the receiver too much.
It's kind of awkward when it is said during the same segment. Like he says it, then the camera stays on him, and a minute later, he says it again.
John Congemi is a Pitt alum so of course he's gonna lobby for them. It was clearly a shoulder to the shoulder/neck of Devin Street. It was NOT a helmet-to-helmet like he cried about.
Ben Taylor would really get after ya- I remember this game and thinking "why in the world would you run the SAME play with the SAME guy??!?" I think the Temple QB was getting back at his WR for stealing his girlfriend or lunch money.
Spit take! This is hysterical - +1.
I am not sure why this hit hasn't been mentioned yet. Flowers delivered that hit almost standing still.
Turkey leg for you for making me exhale quickly through my nose at that story.
And all the turkey legs I can give away to the person who can find this hit!
I personally love when both teams where their colored jersey. It always looks good in the USCw - UCLA game.
The only other player on our D that I think might have done enough nationally would be J.R. Collins but he doesn't have the *Wow* factor, even though he leads the team in sacks, tackles for loss, fumbles forced, is 4th in tackles, and if he could have had a little more body control he probably would have had two more sacks against Pitt. Quiet but deadly benefiting from the focus on James Gayle
Call me arrogant, call me idealistic, but I'm okay with top recruits not jumping ship if the team they committed to isn't doing too well. I don't want athletes who wind up at Virginia Tech because their first choice sucks. I want athletes who want to be in Blacksburg and play for us regardless of how many stars ESPN and Scouts.com slapped on their profiles.
When I was in probably 4th grade, I was tasked with the assignment of drawing a person for art class. Specifically, we were supposed to start being able to draw faces that didn't look like Sloth from the Goonies. I sucked at drawing faces (and drawing in general) so I drew a picture of Ben Taylor destroying that Temple player. Faces are a lot easier to draw when there's a helmet around them.
Now I gotta find this picture.
The few times we ran the wildcat, it was a disaster.
I won't lose any sleep if we never run it again.

*shudders*
...I STILL can't talk about it.
