Also have to remember the tOSU has around 50k undergrads. That mean a lot of people graduating every year. Northwestern pales in size compared to them. Think Wake and Tech in football. We have a lot more alumni, and a more fervent football fandom.
Plus, I know a lot of tOSU fans that have never taken a class there. They fill seats at away games just as well too.
The game at Northwestern last weekend looked like an Ohio State home game in the stands. Sea of red!
I just read in the Kingsport Times today an article about this game. Bruton said he will "level the whole place" to make this game happen. He said any building in the infield that is in the way would be removed if need be!!!! Awesome!!!!!! Biggest game ever played!!! They are calling it the moonshine bowl down here....lol

My point though, was that it took the BCS national championship to raise a kitty that was that large, even if it was going to be split eventually.
I don't know about you guys, but I love moving to a new conference just to play BC and Pitt every year anyway.

I know...I live about ten minutes from the track, and work with an office full of Vol fans. I have never heard so much trash talkin' in my life. Makes me sick!!! The only thing worse is hearing that God forsaken Rocky Top every 10 minutes.
Is is just me or what, but I get so "jacked up" when Metallica comes on I just wanna choke slam somebody...lol. I dont see how in the world they could even get pumped up at all to Rocky Top. I must be missing something here.

so you're looking at close to $2M per team.
Does the $2.5M for the kick off go only to the participating teams or does it also get split up among each conferences member institutions?
we just cant let them take over lane. did anyone see their game at cal? there were sections of cal fans but most of that stadium was red. and this is in california. it blew me away. i know it would never be that extreme but those folks travel.

Chick-Fil-A kickoff = $2.5million for VT and Bama each
The CFA Kickoff is in my mind the more appropriate analogy for the hype surrounding this game and potential revenue streams. The novelty will give a bump to marketing potential, granted. But I don't see how going from a 71,000 seat Georgia Dome to 160,000 seat BMS takes you from $2.5million (or $3mil or $4mil) to anywhere near $20million.
Yea, it was. Our OOC schedule is full for 2016 now. Maybe we're talking to Chik-Fil-A Kickoff about another trip there?
There is a book, just ask freshmen cadets. Most of what is in the Guidon is VT history, which more than often correlates with some sort of sporting event or military tradition.

I certainly wouldn't complain if we got even a quarter of that though. Andy goes on to say in the comments that he thinks it will be less too.
I think one of the replacements will be the BMS matchup against Tennessee. I could be wrong about that though.
