I'm NOT going to a wedding on Saturday that I absolutely should be attending because I'm going to be at Lane. Oops.
No superstitions now that I am older and away from campus, too many days where i am lucky to make the game, no time to plan, due to work or my children needing me to attend something to show them I actually care what they are doing. (sarcastica font) However back in 2007 my son was born, Nov. 2nd. Ooooh about 4-5 hours after we put the smack down on GT. I believe that was the stolen Jersey game as well, I convinced my wife to let us stay at the house and watch the game before we went to the hospital. She toughed it out. We left right after the clock hit 0:00. Boom little man born early morning next day. That cost me more than my share of early mornings and extra late nights, some dirty diapers and more than one or two puked in shirts.
My dad would have punched me in the throat. Then picked me up and cheered.

I imagine that looked something like this:
I hope the recruit wasn't injured.
I used to wear close to the opposing teams color shirt either Thursday or Friday before the game. Silly, but it worked for a while. Last year kinda ended that trend, and now I wear maroon on Fridays.

I know it should be a cakewalk after Miami, but there would be two reasons if we continue to win and end up beating Miami...Maryland and UVA would both be playing to be spoilers for us, and getting big heads makes that more likely.
I like the fighting attitude and the "We will win because we want to play to win" mentality that this year's Hokies are playing with. Having the "We will win because they shouldn't beat us" mentality leads to problems.
This. My biggest superstition was to wear a VT shirt the entire day before game day, so usually friday. But after last season, all my superstitions got ruined, which is kind of freeing.
Last year, though, I bought a redskins sweatshirt and hat, and started wearing it when they went on the 7 game win streak. Let's just say that didn't carry through the off season. (now that I look back, I have a shirt I must never wear again that I wore for the first time against seattle.)
I would play our Thursday night games at noon if you told me we'd win all of them.
yeah I was haha but he really did screw us on no Thursday night game this year. but hey as long as we keep winning ill be ok with every game at noon.

I never wear the effect shirt to the effect game, wore my horse on a treadmill shirt against unc and we won so i believe it will be a keeper. But the most important of all tradition is I take two shots of bourbon before leaving tailgate, and take one airplane bottle of rum and one of bourbon into the game, and it was worked every time so I will continue.
No, but it WAS Weaver who took away the home Thursday night game, which I'm sure he was referencing.
Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but just thought I'd say it anyway; it's not Weaver's fault that we don't get the night kickoffs on Saturdays.
I believe we have plans for a game on December 7 that should be at night and a game in Miami sometime around the beginning of the year that will likely be at night.
With no Thursday night home game this year I thought a night game was a given. Thanks for nothing Weaver...
