I don't wanna be that guy, but I'm gonna go ahead and state the obvious. Let me preface this by saying that I like Condi. But it's pretty obvious that she was only picked so they can say that they covered the black and female minorities. Just look at the basketball committee, there is a single black guy and a single woman on it, Condi covered both in one pick.

77-0. Open the game with a kickoff return touchdown, offense never hits the field because we score every time they have the ball.

Anyone else think LOLUVA should be on upset watch today? I know the Neck mentioned it in her game predictions but I looked at the stats and I could see it happening if LOLUVA takes the nonchalant approach since they are at home against an inferior opponent. To quote a buddy of mine that is an alumnus of Mr. Jefferson's fine university, "We are playing Ball St., so I don't need to watch the game." If that's not the kiss of death.....

I agree with Dari to an extent. He said we've been tested twice against Alabama and GT, but I'd go a bit farther and say that both Marshall and ECU have legit offenses. Cato is a ridiculous QB and will put up lots of yards and points this year, and ECU just hung 55 on UNC (for whatever that is worth). The next really truly high powered offense we face will be Miami, and we saw Florida shut them down, so I think we'll have a fair comparison at that point. But HokieSince92 has a good point, we do get a few weak offenses between now and the end of the year so our numbers should improve, while the rest of the teams should have a harder time keeping their numbers down.

I'm also impressed by Dari's use of Oregon's starting field position as a rationale for his decision. I greatly question his selections of Baylor and Oregon, and I haven't watched too much of either, but hearing their average starting field position is the 40 is impressive. Before believing too much in that stat, I'd rather hear about the opponent's average punting position, because I think Oregon has stellar returners and that might inflate the field position number.

Michigan State has had its biggest challenge against Notre Dame. And they don't play Wisconsin or OSU this year, so I'll be taking that one with a grain of salt until 2014

24-10

3 offensive TDs this game.
Journell doesn't miss. Punting is good and makes long fields.

UNC kick return is the biggest effective threat while Ebron is neutralized through effective ball hawking.
VT Blitzing is effective in forcing screens which are sniffed out early and end in bare gains and near INT6.

My only beef with alums in the stadium is that the west stands are always standing still when Enter Sandman is played. At least, that's how it seems on TV. When that song is played, even old people need to get rowdy.

Dammit I hate sitting in front of my computer to watch these games. I wish we could sell our second or third tier rights to NBC or CBS or something. Both have dedicated sports networks and plenty of extra time on their networks to show our games instead of hours of paid programming or Hofstra vs Colgate (who, for some reason, seem to play every weekend). Our strict dedication to ESPN/ABC means we keep getting hosed with our exposure.

Agreed on Rice's qualifications. I don't necessarily think, though, that all the committee members need to be very knowledgeable about football. Having a few in there to balance out the lack of laymen might not be a bad idea.

I'd also like to see someone like Nate Silver to get in there to just make some picks based on straight numbers, or at least to bring a hard analysis into the discussion, and I don't think the football guys are really capable of doing that.

I'd also nominate Phil Steele. Guy knows his college football.

I'm also hoping they take into account off-the-field stuff, to an extent. For example, if two teams are seriously tied in their debate, consider GPA/graduation rate or ratio of volunteer hours to number of misdemeanors. Possibly even compare teams based on the number of Fullers.

21-17 Because we aren't going to blow anyone out and UNC is like a cornered animal at this point. They'll come out vicious.

Other predictions:

Facyson interceptions?
ManBearPig sacks?
Jack Tyler tackles?
Logan completion percentage?

1 - 2 - 9 - 63%

I now have a different answer when friends and family ask me that inevitable question "did his parents really name him Dadi?". (Insert NBC The More You Know... gif here). Thank you sir!

I'm expecting the Fed(ora) to be clueless when facing the elephant that is the Foster D and chaos to ensue next week at Capitol Heel.

That makes sense. I can see that happening of course, just wasn't sure if the coaching staff had mentioned anything about it. I'd love to see him enroll in the spring and then light it up and immediately compete for the starting position though. If not then I hope our offense can get rolling so Leal can get some playing time this year!

Raymon Minor will be here as well.
This weekend is going to be HUGE recruiting wise! So many prospects visiting and all the commits can convince them to come to VT :)

20-10 VT

Hope we score more, but still waiting for the O to become efficient in the red zone. Trusting Bud's boys to have their game Facysons. (somebody had to say it, please don't hate me)
