I don't hate Va Tech... it's just that more often than not recently the other team is better. Especially when that other team is Clemson or Miami.
My thoughts exactly
bch's playoff proposal:
16 teams, the 10 conference champs and 6 at larges who can be selected by the committee with computer formulas taken into consideration. no restrictions on how many teams a conference can send. first two rounds at higher seed's home field. national semis and national title game at neutral sites. play it during december so the semis are played around or on new year's day, with the big game a week later. it would be glorious.
I miss apples. Living in California, the only good apples here come in the form of computers and phones. Luckily, I'll be in NY for a conference in October. I will have to get as many apples as I can, in as many forms as I can.
yeah, condi is obviously an extremely intelligent and accomplished woman, and a big football fan, but i'm not sure she has any more understanding of college football than most of us do. that being said i'm not sure ex-conference commisioners or athletic directors do either. there will always be biases and agendas when humans are involved, even if those involved aren't conscience of it.
i hope the computer formulas are still taken into consideration along with the human polls when the committee is making these decisions.
I've tried apples from all over the world, Shenandoah valley, SWVA, Upstate NY, Washington, Central America highlands, Chile, New Zealand, and my favorite for eating is the New Zealand Macintosh. My grandma had apple trees on her farm in Austinville (Wythe County) with golden delicious for applesauce and Gala for apple pies and canning. I ate apples all summer long. Really do not care for red delicious, they are usually skin-covered mush. Upstate NY does have some really excellent apples with crispiness and a sweet/tart flavor. NZ Macs are very similar, I find them very consistent in flavor, crispness and versatility, perfect raw, mixed in a salad or baked in apple pie.
Back to football, go Hokies, crush the blue sheep!
Brilliant, funny, and somehow disconcerting at the same time.
Huh, that's exactly what my wife said about me when we first met...
I guess I'll take that.
Thanks anyway to remove my post?
Alternative view. UNC is looking like a beaten dog with it's back against the wall. They know they need to win this game to get back into the Coastal competition. Will they have enough bite to overcome Bud Foster's defense?
Humble pie tastes way better that crow pie. Here's hoping that UNC goes home with large helping of the latter while the Hokies feast on celebration cake. (Pie is still better, but cake is appropriate for celebrations.)

Being a Redskins fan, I hope it isn't an RGIII situation. Guy is healthy physically but psychologically he's still a work in process
Maybe I should put this in the food thread, but Humble Pie is pretty good and should be consumed in large quantities.
I hear where you are going with this, but honestly I thought it was a bit patronizing to the team. Last year's 7-6 squad did not play Alabama and yet STILL remained in the discussion as one of (if not the top) battle-tested legit defenses out there.
This was a problem in years past, but honestly I feel this team would crush last year's based on what I've seen. Not to be a downer bro just my $0.02
I still think it would be sweet if 1 and 2 got home field. I know there are reasons beyond just "capacity issues" why this won't happen.
Perhaps to somewhat balance the bias (against) we could see from ol' Mikey BigEast, I saw on twitter that current Arkansas AD (and previous VT Assistant AD) Jeff Long is on the committee. Could help us, I guess.
Of course, hopefully anyone on the committee would leave any potential bias at the door, but we are all human. If it came down to a toss-up between VT and (insert some perennial CFB contender) for the 4th spot, I myself would have a hard time not showing my bias, even if put in that prestigious position.
I see what you did there
I think a swift kick to the balls would be more appropriate.
Yes, I just made a "Ball" State joke.
If you think it's cheesy you can just

This needs more upvotes than I can give!
At the end of the 2012 season Exum was a far more complete defensive player than Facyson is right now. Foster can do more with the defense with (healthy) Exum on the field than Facyson. It's that simple. Facyson has been put in a position to succeed and to his credit he has succeeded big time, but there's no replacing experience when dialing up plays in our complex defense.
At first glance this doesn't make any sense at all. Is she some kind of college football super fan or something? I wouldn't expect a politician to know much about what makes a good college football team.
Half of coming back from a knee injury is getting to a point in which you can trust your knee. Gotta take as much time as possible to get to that point. Just hoping this doesn't turn into a Derrick Rose type deal.

So, if I understand correctly, there will be no computer or poll rankings next year to select the teams. I assume the poll rankings will still exist, but does anyone know if the committee will use a computer program to help them?
