I expect unc to play us tough, but it won't be enough to stave off our revenge

If we followed this line of thinking then Beamer wouldn't have been hired. I do think that ties to university matter with HC position. I look at Brady Hoke and that guy is building something in Michigan that matters. I think TCU is going to be the same. Then I look at Urban Meyer and I know he is going to win games (probably championships) but he is also going to be gone soon. Call me nostalgic but I like programs that have storied history not just a history.

I have been reading a lot on USC search and people saying they need someone like Carroll who understood what mattered to young players. While at the same time forgetting what a mess he left the program. I'm not saying USC should only hire someone with ties to the school but for a program in the midst of scandal finding someone who can win and LOVES the school would be best.

The contingency plans for make-up games could be very interesting. Hooking up teams that were supposed to play the academies with each other is easy on paper, but would be a nightmare in reality. Duke and Fresno, a last minute match?

I can't see Army traveling to BS on Dec 7 in all honesty, but who knows. Taking away from the ACCCG, the week before Navy, limited interest in the fans at that point. It all points to a no-win situation for a make-up game.

Yeah super bummed about that. As soon as i got orders to the Maryland area this game was one of the things i was most pumped about.

I want to down vote for this, but given that you have missed reading this the other 4 times I feel you have been punished enough.

I believe the joke is that 4 out of the 11 players on the field would bang the player they are trying to tackle. That is my understanding. Similar to the "4 out of 5 doctors recommend..."

It's been addressed in other topics here that Kendall is a better turn and run, press cover type of CB which is what Bud asks of his nickelback. For me, I can't say Facyson has out played Kendall since they are doing different things. I think Facyson is getting picks because he tends to play more of a robber type of coverage to bait the QB to throw and then uses his ridiculous closing speed to get the pick. Kendall has been fantastic at pressing receivers, running with them, and when needed making the sure tackle.

kendall hasn't been thrown to as much as facyson ... because he's basically blanketing receivers ... he may be the best man-cover DB on our roster .. and that's saying a lot.

he's also gonna be playing plenty o' whip against these spread teams i think.

i think people are overblowing this whole facyson to WR thing .. he'll get some reps there, more for political reasons (to keep a fire lit under the WRs ass) than anything else. He'll be like macho .. may have a few sets and with his great hands .. could be in for some 3rd down situations ... i don't see him spending much time on the O side at all .. and none after this season.

Holy crap I lost it on footnote 7. Im glad no one was around to see me lose it while Im "working"

I pretty much believe that those pics from sporting news and the season so far for both teams speak for themselves

Completely Agree. I am surprised that people aren't more hyped about this kid. I think he will be the big steal from this last class. No one figured him to be much when we picked him up. He has all of the tools. Add in Malleck and we will be looking good at TE for the immediate future.

I was hoping that they would mention that in 2007, Virginia Tech used GameDay signs to thank the other colleges for their support.

I always look forward to these, well done once again. I think the line that got me most was

"They've played football since 1892, known as the South's Oldest Rivalry proving that just because you've been doing something for a long time, that doesn't mean you're good at it."

I had to pull the 'ol 'stifle laughter in cube' on that one. Well played, sir.
